- Our Thetford Light series draws its core inspiration from the most primal and elegant forms found in nature.
- During an outdoor trip, the designer was captivated by a tranquil forest. He observed the simple geometric structures of tree trunks, branches, and certain plants, such as the graceful curves of oak leaves and the shells of nuts. These forms possessed both the irregular beauty of nature and the underlying geometric lines—balance, extension, and enclosure.
🚧 The first design challenge: Balancing lines and choosing materials
- However, translating the random beauty of nature into the minimalist geometric lines of "less is more" in a product is a huge challenge.
- Challenge one: Perfect curves. If the curves are too rigid, they will appear cold; if they are too rounded, they will lose their modern feel. To find that perfect 0.01 millimeter balance point, the design team spent nearly 120 hours repeatedly sketching and discussing during the initial drafting phase.
- Challenge two: Material conflict. Initially, lightweight aluminum was considered, but it lacked the sense of stability and warmth that the designers desired.
The designer's goal was to capture this "organic geometry," creating a light sculpture that is both modern and timeless.

- Transforming natural observations into abstract geometric lines, the sketches focused on capturing the clean, subtly curved lines and delicate proportions of the lamp's main body. These sketches laid the foundation for the "less is more" modern aesthetic of the Thetford series.

- After the hand-drawn sketches are confirmed, the design enters the digital phase. Using 3D software, the design team makes millimeter-level precise adjustments to every dimension, angle, and curvature, ensuring a perfect balance of light distribution, structural stability, and visual aesthetics. This step also involves simulating the lighting effects in advance, guaranteeing soft and non-glaring light.
Material selection and component assembly
Our designers have successfully created the Thetford series, a lighting collection that perfectly combines classic, minimalist conical lampshades with elegant brass-colored metal fittings. After extensive research, the designers ultimately chose solid brass and nickel-colored alloy as the main framework for the Thetford series.

We understand that the size of a lamp determines its "sense of presence" in a space. The Thetford series ultimately offers different sizes, not arbitrarily, but based on research into the "golden ratio" of modern home spaces:
Pendant Lights (Kitchen Island/Dining Table): The three length options we offer are designed to suit different sizes of dining tables or kitchen islands. We ensure the lighting covers the main illuminated area while leaving ample visual space.
Wall Lights (Bedside / Bathroom): The two sizes are designed to accommodate different installation heights. The smaller size is suitable for bedside reading or auxiliary lighting for decorative paintings; the larger size provides more even and professional supplementary lighting for bathroom mirrors.
During this stage, the design team made thousands of millimeter-level adjustments in 3D software and used professional software to simulate the light and shadow distribution effects of different sizes under standard ceiling heights to ensure structural stability and optimal visual proportions.
⏱️ Time Spent in this Stage: 3D modeling, structural verification, and size finalization took approximately 45 days.

- Challenge: For the complex geometric structure of the chandelier, even the slightest deviation can lead to misalignment of light projection. Therefore, we insist on meticulous hand-finishing at all joints, ensuring perfect alignment at every connection.
- Temperature: The artisans repeatedly rub the polished metal parts in their hands, ensuring a mirror-smooth surface, giving the metal a warm touch and delicate luster beneath its cool exterior.

- The final assembly stage requires not only skill but also patience and focus. Highly skilled workers precisely fit the high-transparency lampshade with the polished frame and conduct double circuit and lighting tests.
