The alabaster story

Quarried in Spain, glowing from within

Spanish alabaster is a soft, translucent stone. Cut into shades a few millimetres thick, it turns an LED into a warm, even glow with the veining floating inside. Each shade is cut from its own block, so tone and pattern differ slightly from piece to piece — that is the material, not a fault.

Measuring for pendant lighting

When installing pendants and chandeliers, consider how you want the fixture to hang in relation to the other furnishings in your space.

Kitchen islandAim for 30–36″ from the counter to the bottom of the shade. Space multiple pendants 26–30″ apart, 12″ in from the island edge.

Dining roomBottom of the fixture about 30″ above the table; fixture width ≈ table width minus 12″ on each side.

BedroomAbove a nightstand allow at least 30″ between the shade and the surface; centre the pendant over the nightstand.

The alabaster globe gives off a soft, warm glow. The light feels comfortable and never too sharp.

They give us gentle evening light and leave more space on the nightstands.

Such a pretty pendant lamp. The simple round shape lets the natural stone pattern stand out.

We used the brown leather version over a small powder room vanity, and it fits the space beautifully.

The black leather looks clean against the creamy white alabaster. I also like that the brass is used sparingly.

The alabaster gives off such a nice warm light in my reading nook.

Love the leather detail and warm glow.

The alabaster globe is gorgeous.
