Quarried in Spain, glowing from within

Spanish alabaster is a soft, translucent stone. Cut into shades a few millimetres thick, it turns an LED into a warm, even glow with the veining floating inside. Each shade is cut from its own block, so tone and pattern differ slightly from piece to piece — that is the material, not a fault.

Such an unusual and beautiful wall light.

I was unsure about the long proportions at first, but they make much more sense after installation. The tiny rounded shade balances the thin vertical stem surprisingly well.

The light is more atmospheric than bright, which was exactly what I expected from the stone shade.

We used one above a small entryway table, and the hanging design fills the tall blank wall nicely.

Seriously beautiful piece, def recommend.

Hangs beautifully down our staircase, love the bronze.
