Italian Marble · Opaline Glass · Mid-Century Form

A wall-mounted sculpture in two materials. An opaline glass globe rests against a slab of Italian marble — borrowed from the elegance of pearls on a silver tray, filtered through the vivid optimism of mid-century Italian design.

Each marble slab is prized for its bold grey veining. No two pieces arrive alike; each carries its own quiet signature, cut from stone that took centuries to form.

See It In Action

AC 110V Only · Do Not Use 12V

This fixture uses G4 bi-pin AC 110V bulbs — it is not compatible with low-voltage 12V G4 bulbs. Using a 12V bulb will cause immediate failure or damage the fixture.

When shopping for replacement bulbs, confirm the packaging reads G4 / 110V AC — the bi-pin base looks identical to the 12V version.

FAQ

Why can't I use a 12V G4 bulb? +

The G4 bi-pin base is physically identical in 12V and 110V versions, but the electrical systems are different. This fixture is wired for direct 110V AC mains power — installing a 12V bulb will cause it to fail immediately or damage the fixture. Always confirm the bulb packaging reads G4 / 110V AC.

Which bulb do you recommend? +

A warm white (2700K) G4 AC 110V LED bulb at 2–3W gives the most flattering glow through the opaline shade. LED is strongly preferred — it runs cool, lasts longer, and won't heat-stress the marble or glass.

Can I mount it horizontally? +

Yes. The fixture is designed to work in either orientation — vertical (heads pointing up or down) or horizontal (heads pointing left or right). Choose whichever suits your wall composition.

Is the lamp dimmable? +

Yes, when paired with a dimmable G4 110V LED bulb and a compatible TRIAC dimmer switch. Confirm the bulb's dimmer compatibility list before installing.

Will the marble veining vary between units? +

Yes — significantly. Each marble back is cut from a single slab of natural Italian marble, so veining patterns, density of grey, and subtle tonal differences vary between every piece. No two are identical; this natural variation is the core character of the material.

What about the 1-head vs 2-head vs 3-head versions? +

All three share the same diameter (12 cm / 4.7″) and mounting footprint — they differ only in overall length. Pick the 1-head for tight spots (bedside, narrow hallway), 2-head for balanced bedroom or living-room use, and 3-head for a taller statement above a console or in a stairwell.

The Marble Series

Sculptural fixtures hewn from natural stone — each one carrying the signature of geology, time, and the human hand.

Born of Time

Pressure, heat, and one hundred million years — nature's slowest brushwork. Each lamp wears a pattern that exists once, and never again.

The Material

From Stone to Illumination

Marble is not a finish. It is a material with a memory.

A metamorphic rock, marble is born of recrystallized carbonate minerals — limestone subjected to heat and pressure deep within the earth's crust over geological time. Its distinctive veining, the subtle gradient of its color, the cool weight of its surface — all are records of the forces that shaped it across millions of years.

"Where a manufactured material repeats itself, marble can only be itself. Each piece is the only piece — the sole physical expression of a particular vein, formed once and quarried once."

Signatures of Stone

Three Marks of Authenticity

Three qualities you will only find in genuine, quarried marble — and never in anything cast, printed, or manufactured to imitate it.

i. Distinctive marble veining — every pattern unique
Vena

Distinctive Veining

Each vein traces the path of mineral seepage millions of years ago. Nature's own brushwork — a pattern that exists once, on this lamp, and nowhere else on earth.

ii. Subtle natural marble color variations — cream, ivory, pearl grey
Tono

Subtle Tonality

Cream, ivory and pearl grey deepen in soft gradients, occasionally crossed by veins of warm caramel. Quiet, natural tones that grace every interior style.

iii. The cool, smooth tactile quality of polished natural marble
Tatto

Cool, Tactile Hand

A density and coolness only ancient stone can offer. Marble holds the air around it — substantial, calming, real. A weight you feel before you see.

From Quarry to Hearth

Five Stages of Slow Craft

From the raw block extracted at the quarry, to the moment the lamp is wired and tested in our atelier — every fixture passes through five hand-guided stages.

N° 01 / Cava
Quarrying — solid blocks extracted from natural marble quarry

Quarrying

Solid blocks are extracted from the foothills, where geological forces left their finest seams. Only stones with sound structure and clean veining are selected.

N° 02 / Lastra
Slab cutting — diamond blade revealing marble veining

Slab Cutting

Diamond-tipped blades part the block into precise slabs — each cut is a first reveal of the unique veining hidden inside the stone for millennia.

N° 03 / Scolpire
Shaping and carving — skilled hand work on marble

Shaping & Carving

Each form is cut by skilled hands — a patient negotiation between the designer's intent and the grain of the stone itself.

N° 04 / Lucidare
Hollowing and polishing — interior bored, exterior honed

Hollow & Polish

The interior is bored to delicate walls so warm light may pass through. The exterior is honed and hand-polished to its final, luminous finish.

Assembly and wiring — final integration in the atelier

Assembly

Wiring, sockets and fittings are integrated by our atelier team. Each fixture is bench-tested and inspected before it leaves the workshop.
