French Empire-Style · Cast Brass · Crystal Swag Drapes · Cut-Glass Bowl

A French Empire / Regency-style chandelier built around a cast-brass crown of acanthus cresting and scrolled cartouches, with crystal beaded swags draped between the crown points. Beneath the crown sits a faceted cut-glass bowl in classical pineapple-cut pattern, lit from within by three candelabra sockets that throw light upward through the swags and downward through the cut-glass facets.

Suited to formal dining rooms, traditional living rooms, grand entrance halls, and French-classical or neoclassical interiors. The cut-glass bowl casts intricate refracted patterns across the ceiling and floor — a particularly atmospheric effect when paired with a dimmer.

Cast Brass Crown

Acanthus cresting and scrolled cartouches — French Empire vocabulary throughout.

Crystal Swag Drapes

Beaded crystal swags draped between crown points — refract light across the room.

Cut-Glass Bowl

Faceted pineapple-cut bowl casts patterned refracted light onto ceiling and floor.

Cast Brass with Clear Crystal

Hand-finished cast brass with warm patina across crown, arms, and bowl ring, paired with clear cut-crystal beaded swags and a clear cut-glass bowl. Pairs with cream walls, gilt-frame artwork, French-classical and traditional interiors. The brass develops subtle patina over years of use.

∅ 40 cm / 15.7" Bowl Diameter
H 70 cm / 27.6" Total Height

Heavy fixture — confirm junction box rating. Cast brass with a cut-glass bowl makes this a substantial chandelier. Confirm with a licensed electrician that your ceiling junction box and structural support are rated for the load before installation. Standard residential boxes typically support up to 50 lb; for heavier installations a fan-rated or reinforced box may be required.

Will it suit my room? +

At 40 cm wide and 70 cm tall, this is a compact-to-medium chandelier suited to standard dining rooms, formal foyers, traditional living rooms, larger powder rooms, and bedroom statement positions. It needs at least 8 ft ceilings to read in proportion; for 9-10 ft ceilings the chain can be extended. Ideal for spaces where you want classical-elegant presence without the scale of a grand-foyer chandelier.

What bulb does it take? +

Three E12 (North America) or E14 (EU/UK/AU) candelabra base bulbs up to 25W each. We recommend warm white (3000K) LED candelabra bulbs in flame-tip shape for the most period-appropriate look. The bulbs sit inside the cut-glass bowl and project light through the faceted glass — bulb shape and color affect the pattern of refracted light.

Is the crystal real or glass? +

The beaded swags and cut-glass bowl are both decorative cut crystal — high-quality faceted and polished glass crystal that refracts light to produce the prismatic glow effect. This is decorative crystal suited to the fixture's price and finish, not natural rock crystal (which would be many times the cost). The cut quality is well-engineered for the intended visual effect.

Will it work on a sloped ceiling? +

The standard mount is for flat ceilings using the included chain-and-canopy assembly. For sloped ceilings, a sloped-ceiling adapter is typically needed (sold separately by hardware suppliers). The chain-suspended structure adapts well to moderate slopes once an adapter is installed.

Is it dimmable? +

The fixture itself doesn't dim, but it becomes fully dimmable when paired with dimmable LED candelabra bulbs and a standard TRIAC wall dimmer (both sold separately). Dimming this style of chandelier is particularly effective — at 30-40% brightness, the cut-glass bowl produces softer, more atmospheric refracted patterns on the surrounding walls and ceiling.

Every room has a soul piece. This is where it hangs.

Some lights fill a room; a very few define it. An American crystal chandelier is the second kind — the fixture guests look up at first, the one the whole space quietly arranges itself around.

§ 01 · The Style

Not your grandmother's chandelier — iron nerve, crystal grace.

French crystal whispers, traditional European crystal parades. American crystal does something else: it pairs a strong, honest metal frame with just enough sparkle — tailored, modern, and easy to live with.

The Iron

A frame with a backbone.

Aged bronze and matte black — finishes borrowed from workshop and farmhouse, not from a palace. The metal draws clean, confident lines that keep the whole piece grounded and architectural.

The Light

Sparkle, rationed.

Crystal used the way a tailor uses a pocket square — a deliberate few, perfectly placed. Where European chandeliers drip with it, the American cut lets a handful of clean facets carry the whole effect.

§ 03 · Before You Order

Three worries, retired.

Every crystal buyer arrives with the same three fears. Here they are — each answered in one breath.

Worry № 1 · Shipping
What if it arrives in pieces?

It travels suspended in molded foam, every strand bagged — and if the carrier wins anyway, we replace damaged parts free.

Worry № 2 · Mounting
What if it falls?

A load-bearing canopy and complete hardware come in the box. Anchored to a joist or braced electrical box, it's up for decades.

Worry № 3 · Upkeep
Won't it just collect dust?

A static duster keeps the sparkle; once a year, a mist of no-rinse crystal cleaner drips it back to brand-new. No disassembly, ever.

Measuring for Pendant Lighting

When installing pendants and chandeliers, it’s important to consider how you want your fixtures to hang in relation to the other furnishings in your space. Read on for our recommendations on how to hang the perfect light.

Kitchen

Aim for 30–36″ from the bottom of your fixture’s shade to the top of your island or countertop. Space multiple pendants 26–30″ apart. For a sense of proportion and balance, allow 12″ from the outermost fixture to the edge of your counter.

Dining Room

For optimal lighting and visibility, the bottom of your pendant should sit 30″ from the surface of your dining table. To scale your fixture, take the length and width of the room in feet, then convert that to inches. For a 10′ by 14′ room, the chandelier should be about 24″ wide.

Bedroom

If you’re hanging a pendant above a nightstand, allow for at least 30″ between the bottom of the shade and your nightstand’s surface. To keep the look balanced, center your pendant over your nightstand.
