Onyx-Toned Green Onyx · Capsule Backplate · Opal Glass Orb · Hand-Cut Stone

A wall sconce composed of an oval capsule-shaped backplate hand-cut from natural green onyx, with a frosted opal glass orb sitting partly recessed at the top. When lit, the orb produces a soft, even glow that catches the dramatic veining and color-banding of the stone behind it.

Each backplate is unique — green onyx forms in mineral layers that create swirls of cream, Onyx-green, and warm red-brown veining, distinct in every piece. Suited to headboard flanking, hallways, mirror walls, and any installation where you want a natural-stone focal point.

Genuine Green Onyx

Hand-cut natural stone with Onyx-green and red-brown veining — every piece is one-of-a-kind.

Capsule Silhouette

Soft oval form softens the wall composition — neither a hard rectangle nor a circle.

Opal Glass Orb

Frosted glass diffuses the bulb into a soft, glare-free glow against the stone.

Onyx-Toned Green Onyx

Hand-cut natural stone with cream, soft green, and warm red-brown veining. Pairs with neutral walls, oak, brass accents, and contemporary or organic-modern interiors. Each piece is unique — patterns vary between sconces.

About the material name. The "Onyx" in the product name refers to the stone's Onyx-green coloration — the actual material is green onyx, a translucent calcite-based stone whose natural color resembles Onyx. True Onyx is opaque and used primarily in jewelry. Green onyx is the correct material — translucent, layered, and naturally veined.

Is this real Onyx stone? +

No — this is green onyx, named "Onyx" for its Onyx-green color, not for being actual Onyx. True Onyx (nephrite or Onyxite) is an opaque mineral used primarily in jewelry, not lighting. Green onyx is a translucent calcite-based stone whose natural color happens to resemble Onyx — it's the actual material you'll receive, with the dramatic translucent veining shown in the photographs.

Will my piece look exactly like the photo? +

No — every backplate is hand-cut from natural green onyx, so the pattern of veining, color intensity, and grain direction varies between pieces. Yours will share the same overall character as the photographs but the specific markings will be one-of-a-kind. For close color matching across a pair or set, leave a note at checkout and we'll select coordinated pieces.

What bulb does it take? +

One G9 LED bulb (not included). G9 is a small bi-pin base, common in compact decorative fixtures and widely available. We recommend a dimmable G9 LED up to 5W in warm white (3000K) for the most flattering glow through the opal glass against the stone backplate.

Can I order it as a pair? +

Yes — works beautifully in pairs flanking a headboard, mirror, or doorway. Just order two units. Because each stone is naturally unique, a pair will share overall character but won't be identical. For closer matching, leave a note at checkout.

Can I install it in a bathroom? +

Yes — well-suited to bathroom walls, particularly powder rooms or above vanity mirrors. Because onyx is naturally porous, install away from direct shower spray or steam concentration. Standard ventilation and normal bathroom humidity are not a concern.

A Radilum Table Lamp

Lucie — Stone, Lit from Within

A sculptural plug-in lamp turned from a single block of natural stone — onyx, marble or travertine, each piece glowing with veining entirely its own.

3 Stones · 3 Sizes
The Idea

A single block of stone, hollowed for the light to pass through.

Each Lucie begins as a solid piece of natural stone, cut from the quarry and turned into a slender column. Where the stone runs thin, light glows softly through it — revealing the mineral veins, clouds and bands that took millions of years to form.

Because no two blocks are ever alike, no two Lucie lamps are alike. The one that arrives at your door is the only one exactly like it in the world.

Quarried, turned, and lit — a quiet object that earns a second look.

Plug & Play No electrician. Any standard outlet.
Warm Glow Soft 3000K light, dimmable.
Solid Stone Turned from one genuine block.
One of a Kind Veining unique to your piece.
Three Sizes Scaled for any space.
Worry-Free Care Responsive after-sales support.
The Lucie lamp glowing warmly after dark
Day & Night

By day a sculpture. After dark, a lantern.

Unlit, the Lucie reads as a solid stone object — architectural, weighty and calm. Switch it on and the very same stone turns luminous, throwing a low, honeyed glow that warms a room without a hint of glare.

Best revealed with a warm 3000K bulb.

The Colour Library

Every Stone, Every Shade

Within each material you can choose a colour family to suit your interior. The swatches below show each option's dominant tone — a guide to the palette, not the exact pattern.

i. Onyx Onice
iii. Travertine Travertino

Because every block is cut from a different part of the quarry, the exact pattern, vein direction and tone of your Lucie will be entirely its own — a feature of genuine stone, never a flaw.

Worry-Free After-Sales

Good to Know Before & After

Natural stone behaves differently from mass-produced materials. Here is exactly what to expect — and how our support team has you covered at every step.

Q1. Will my lamp look exactly like the photos?

No — and that is the point. Each Lucie is turned from a unique block of natural stone, so its veining, colour depth and pattern will be its own; your piece shares the stone family and tone shown, but the exact movement is one-of-a-kind. Natural veins, subtle colour shifts, fine internal lines and tiny pits (especially in travertine, which is naturally porous) are all part of genuine stone — not defects, and not grounds for return on their own. When lit, some veins simply read more clearly, which is the translucency working as intended.

Q2. Do I need an electrician to set it up?

No. The Lucie is a plug-in lamp: it arrives wired with a cord and plug, so there is no junction box and no hardwiring. Fit a bulb, plug it into any standard wall outlet and switch it on with the inline cord switch — ideal for renters, retrofits and anyone who wants beautiful light without an installation.

Q3. What bulb does it use, and is it dimmable?

The Lucie uses a standard screw-base bulb (E26 in North America / E27 elsewhere) and ships ready for a warm 3000K bulb — use an LED within the wattage rating printed on the label. It is operated by an inline switch on the cord and is dimmable when paired with a compatible dimmable bulb and matching dimmer. Need a specific voltage, plug type or colour temperature? Let us know at checkout and we will confirm before shipping.

Q4. How heavy is it — will it tip over?

Because the body is solid stone, the Lucie is reassuringly heavy with a low centre of gravity, so it sits stably on any flat, level surface. As with any stone object, place it away from edges and high-traffic knock zones, and keep the cord tucked so it cannot be snagged.

Q5. What if it arrives damaged, and how do I care for it?

Stone is fragile, so every Lucie is packed in protective, shock-absorbing packaging; in the rare event it arrives damaged, contact us within 7 days with photos of the item and packaging and we will arrange a free replacement or refund. In everyday use, wipe gently with a soft, dry or barely-damp cloth and avoid acidic or abrasive cleaners (vinegar, citrus, scouring pads), which can etch natural stone. Every Lucie is bench-tested before it ships and backed by worry-free after-sales support — reach out to support@radilum.com and we will make it right.

Measuring for Pendant Lighting

When installing pendants and chandeliers, it’s important to consider how you want your fixtures to hang in relation to the other furnishings in your space. Read on for our recommendations on how to hang the perfect light.

Kitchen

Aim for 30–36″ from the bottom of your fixture’s shade to the top of your island or countertop. Space multiple pendants 26–30″ apart. For a sense of proportion and balance, allow 12″ from the outermost fixture to the edge of your counter.

Dining Room

For optimal lighting and visibility, the bottom of your pendant should sit 30″ from the surface of your dining table. To scale your fixture, take the length and width of the room in feet, then convert that to inches. For a 10′ by 14′ room, the chandelier should be about 24″ wide.

Bedroom

If you’re hanging a pendant above a nightstand, allow for at least 30″ between the bottom of the shade and your nightstand’s surface. To keep the look balanced, center your pendant over your nightstand.
