Dimensions
Each stone is unique. Spanish alabaster carries natural veining, tonal variation, and translucency that differ from piece to piece. The shade you receive will closely match the overall warm white character shown in photographs, but the specific vein pattern will be distinct — this is intrinsic to natural stone, not a defect.
Bulbs are not included. This fixture uses an E12 (US candelabra) or E14 (international candelabra) socket. We recommend a 2–4W LED candelabra bulb at 2700K warm white with a frosted or opal glass casing — the warm tone complements both the antique brass and the alabaster, and the frosted diffuser avoids a visible hotspot through the translucent stone.

What is Spanish alabaster? +
Spanish alabaster is a fine-grained gypsum stone quarried in Aragon, Spain — one of Europe's most significant sources of decorative alabaster. Unlike marble or granite, alabaster is semi-translucent: light passes through the stone itself rather than reflecting from its surface. The white variety has a clean, milky translucency with subtle veining — when the bulb activates, the shade appears to glow from within, producing a warm and distinctly organic quality of light that no glass or resin diffuser can replicate.
Can two be paired flanking a headboard? +
Yes — Kingston is well suited to symmetrical pairing. For a standard headboard (140–180 cm wide), position each sconce's back panel center approximately 50–60 cm from the headboard's midpoint on each side, at a height where the alabaster shade sits roughly at seated eye level (100–120 cm from the floor). The 8 cm depth means both fixtures will sit close to the wall without projecting significantly. Plan wiring before installation as both require hardwired connections.
What bulb gives the best result with the alabaster shade? +
A 2–4W LED E12/E14 candelabra bulb at 2700K warm white with a frosted or opal glass casing. The frosted glass spreads the light evenly through the alabaster, avoiding a bright hotspot at the bulb position — a clear filament bulb can appear as a point of light through the thinner areas of the stone. Warm white (2700K) works best: it enhances the natural cream tone of the alabaster and complements the antique brass finish. Bulbs are not included.
Is it dimmable? +
Yes, when fitted with a dimmable E12/E14 LED candelabra bulb and a compatible TRIAC wall dimmer switch (both sold separately). Specify “dimmable” when purchasing the bulb and confirm your dimmer is rated for LED loads. Dimming to 40–60% typically produces the most flattering effect — the alabaster glow becomes softer and warmer as brightness decreases, enhancing the mineral translucency of the stone.

Quarrying
Solid blocks are extracted from the foothills, where geological forces left their finest seams. Only stones with sound structure and clean veining are selected.
Slab Cutting
Diamond-tipped blades part the block into precise slabs — each cut is a first reveal of the unique veining hidden inside the stone for millennia.
Shaping & Carving
Each form is cut by skilled hands — a patient negotiation between the designer's intent and the grain of the stone itself.
Hollow & Polish
The interior is bored to delicate walls so warm light may pass through. The exterior is honed and hand-polished to its final, luminous finish.
Assembly

Measuring for Pendant Lighting
When installing pendants and chandeliers, it’s important to consider how you want your fixtures to hang in relation to the other furnishings in your space. Read on for our recommendations on how to hang the perfect light.
Kitchen
Aim for 30–36″ from the bottom of your fixture’s shade to the top of your island or countertop. Space multiple pendants 26–30″ apart. For a sense of proportion and balance, allow 12″ from the outermost fixture to the edge of your counter.
Dining Room
For optimal lighting and visibility, the bottom of your pendant should sit 30″ from the surface of your dining table. To scale your fixture, take the length and width of the room in feet, then convert that to inches. For a 10′ by 14′ room, the chandelier should be about 24″ wide.
Bedroom
If you’re hanging a pendant above a nightstand, allow for at least 30″ between the bottom of the shade and your nightstand’s surface. To keep the look balanced, center your pendant over your nightstand.
