Wählen Sie Keramik, wenn Sie weiches, halbtransparentes Licht mögen — das Leuchtmittelglühen durchdringt das Keramikmaterial für einen warmen, sanften Lichtwurf. Wählen Sie Aluminium, wenn Sie knackigeres direktionales Licht bevorzugen und kein halbtransparentes Glühen benötigen — Aluminium ist auch versandsicherer mit null Bruchrisiko. Beide erzeugen die gleiche Schirmsilhouette, nur mit unterschiedlichen Lichtqualitäten.
Welches Leuchtmittel passt? +
Ein E26 (Nordamerika) oder E27 (EU/UK/AU) Standard-Sockel-Leuchtmittel bis 25W. Wir empfehlen ein warmweißes (3000K) LED-Leuchtmittel für Wohnambiance. Vintage-Edison-Glühfaden-Leuchtmittel funktionieren auch hervorragend — das Leuchtmittel ist von unten teilweise sichtbar, und ein Glühfaden-Leuchtmittel fügt Werkstatt-Charakter hinzu. Leuchtmittel nicht enthalten.
Wie weit ragt es von der Wand ab? +
Der Wandabstand beträgt 32 cm (12,6") — gemessen von der Wandoberfläche bis zur vorderen Kante des Schirms. Dies ist ein beträchtlicher Abstand, der sich für breitere Wände eignet; für enge Flure oder beengte Räume messen Sie Ihren Platz vor der Bestellung.

Every Thetford fixture is designed to exist alongside the others — same vocabulary, different conversation. Mix Linear Pendants over the island with a Wall Sconce above the backsplash and the room reads as intentionally designed, not accidentally collected.

The Thetford Series offers two shade materials — not as a finish option but as a design decision. The choice between Translucent Porcelain and Industrial Aluminium changes the quality of light, the character of the room, and the decade the space seems to come from. Both are right. The question is which is right for your room.
The two materials are designed to coexist. A common specification: Porcelain pendants over the kitchen island (where atmosphere matters) and Aluminium in the pantry or utility area (where task focus is everything). The contrast reads as collected over time — the hallmark of a premium English interior.
The kitchen essential you didn't know you were missing.
Modern kitchens suffer from over-lighting — recessed LEDs spaced every 18 inches, illuminating nothing in particular at full intensity. Thetford brings light down to human scale, creating intimacy without sacrificing task performance. The ceiling becomes quiet. The island becomes the room.
The series is designed to be mixed deliberately. Porcelain over the island — Aluminium in the pantry — Sconce above the backsplash. Each fixture speaks the same language with a different inflection. The result is a room that reads as designed, not decorated.

Lighting placement is the last decision made and the one that undoes everything else. The two principles below come from our specification team — distilled from hundreds of kitchen projects where the placement was either exactly right or nearly right.

Measuring for Pendant Lighting
When installing pendants and chandeliers, it’s important to consider how you want your fixtures to hang in relation to the other furnishings in your space. Read on for our recommendations on how to hang the perfect light.
Kitchen
Aim for 30–36″ from the bottom of your fixture’s shade to the top of your island or countertop. Space multiple pendants 26–30″ apart. For a sense of proportion and balance, allow 12″ from the outermost fixture to the edge of your counter.
Dining Room
For optimal lighting and visibility, the bottom of your pendant should sit 30″ from the surface of your dining table. To scale your fixture, take the length and width of the room in feet, then convert that to inches. For a 10′ by 14′ room, the chandelier should be about 24″ wide.
Bedroom
If you’re hanging a pendant above a nightstand, allow for at least 30″ between the bottom of the shade and your nightstand’s surface. To keep the look balanced, center your pendant over your nightstand.
