Installation
- Hardwired ceiling installation — a licensed electrician is recommended for all sizes.
- All mounting hardware and a 19.7″ / 50 cm hanging chain are included.
- Chain length can be shortened on-site to adjust the drop height for your ceiling.
- Confirm the ceiling box weight rating before installing — particularly for the 6-head (≈9 kg) and 9-head (≈13 kg) configurations. Reinforce with a fan-rated brace box if needed.
- For dining rooms, hang the bottom of the fixture 75–85 cm (30–34″) above the table surface.
- Crystals can be unclipped during installation and re-attached after the body is secured — this makes hanging easier and reduces handling stress on the crystals.
FAQ
Is the crystal real or acrylic? +
The shades are real cut crystal — clear, transparent, and faceted to refract light into sparkle and shadow. Each piece carries the weight, clarity, and optical character of true crystal, not acrylic substitutes.
Which size should I choose? +
As a general guide: 4 Heads (∅ 40 cm) suits small dining tables, breakfast nooks, or bedrooms with 2.4–2.7 m ceilings. 5 Heads (∅ 50 cm) — versatile for standard dining rooms and entryways. 6 Heads (∅ 60 cm) — large dining tables, open-plan living, formal entries. 9 Heads (∅ 80 cm) — grand foyers, double-height ceilings, statement spaces over 4 m wide.
Will the brass develop a patina? +
The hand-finished brass is sealed and stable under normal indoor conditions — it will retain its warm tone over time without significant tarnishing. Each piece is individually finished, so subtle tonal variation between fixtures is part of the artisanal character.
Which bulb do you recommend? +
A warm white (2700K) LED bulb in E12 or E14 candelabra base, at 3–5W per head. Clear flame-tip or candle-style bulbs work beautifully — they let the bulb's filament reflect through the crystals for the most dramatic sparkle. Avoid frosted bulbs, which dampen the reflective effect that makes Crinoline distinctive.
How heavy is it? Will my ceiling support it? +
Weight ranges from 6.1 kg (4 Heads) up to approximately 13 kg (9 Heads). Standard ceiling boxes typically support up to 23 kg (50 lbs), so all sizes are within range — but we strongly recommend confirming with a licensed electrician before installation, especially for 6 and 9 heads. A fan-rated brace box is the safest option for the larger sizes.
Is it dimmable? +
Yes — paired with dimmable LED candelabra bulbs and a TRIAC-compatible wall dimmer (e.g. Lutron Skylark, Leviton Decora), Crinoline dims smoothly. Dimmed crystal light is particularly atmospheric — many owners install on a dimmer specifically for this reason.
How do I clean the crystals? +
Switch off the power and let the bulbs cool. For light dust, use a soft microfibre cloth or a clean feather duster. For deeper cleaning, gently wipe each crystal with a soft cloth lightly dampened with a 50/50 water-and-isopropyl-alcohol mix — this evaporates cleanly and leaves no residue. Avoid commercial glass sprays directly on the crystals, as overspray can affect the brass finish.
Can crystals be replaced if one breaks? +
Yes — individual crystals can be replaced. If one is damaged in transit or use, please contact us with your SKU and we will arrange replacement crystals.

Measuring for Pendant Lighting
When installing pendants and chandeliers, it’s important to consider how you want your fixtures to hang in relation to the other furnishings in your space. Read on for our recommendations on how to hang the perfect light.
Kitchen
Aim for 30–36″ from the bottom of your fixture’s shade to the top of your island or countertop. Space multiple pendants 26–30″ apart. For a sense of proportion and balance, allow 12″ from the outermost fixture to the edge of your counter.
Dining Room
For optimal lighting and visibility, the bottom of your pendant should sit 30″ from the surface of your dining table. To scale your fixture, take the length and width of the room in feet, then convert that to inches. For a 10′ by 14′ room, the chandelier should be about 24″ wide.
Bedroom
If you’re hanging a pendant above a nightstand, allow for at least 30″ between the bottom of the shade and your nightstand’s surface. To keep the look balanced, center your pendant over your nightstand.
