The designer's first wall lamp, designed in 1925, was originally intended to illuminate the large windows of a villa, a statement of purist. The designer modified La Roche to enhance its lightness and functionality: a matt metal frame and a white glass diffuser for a soft light.

The glass story
Shaped by hand, cooled slowly
Our glass shades are gathered from the furnace and blown or pressed by hand, then annealed slowly so the colour stays even and the wall stays strong. Small bubbles and slight differences between pieces are not flaws — they are how you know a hand made it.
