Travertine forms in hot springs, layer on layer, which leaves the small open pores you see on the surface. We cut it into shades and bodies, fill or leave the pores as the design asks, and seal it so it keeps its sand-and-cream tones for decades.

A master cutter studies the block, reads its grain, and works the stone into silhouette — always following, never fighting, the natural direction of the material.
