Gilt Brass Tole · Hand-Painted Ceramic Flowers · 6-Light French Chandelier
A French tole foliate chandelier in the 19th-century Louis XV–Louis XVI vocabulary that defined American Gilded Age and Beaux-Arts dining rooms — a gilt brass crown caps the canopy, six scrolled brass arms curve outward in classic tôle dorée rhythm, and hand-painted ceramic blossoms in pink and rose are wired into the foliage along the lower body. The brass is sand-cast and chased; the ceramic flowers are individually painted and fired before being attached.
Drawn from the French country-house and Italian Tuscan-villa tôle tradition. Suited to formal dining rooms, primary entry foyers, breakfast nooks, primary-suite seating areas, and powder rooms in 4,000+ sq ft estates, luxury hotel suites, members-club libraries, and Federal, Greek Revival, French Country, and Hollywood Regency historic-restoration projects.

- Specialist installer recommended — ceramic flowers are individually wired into the foliate body and can shift during un-crating; handle by the brass arms only.

FAQ
What size dining table or room does it suit? +
The Ø 22″ frame suits dining tables 48–66″ long — typical of seating for 4 to 8. For breakfast nooks and round bistro tables, the fixture works above 36–54″ tables. For primary entry foyers it suits 9–11 ft ceilings; for taller foyers, longer chain is available on request. Hang the lower edge 30–34″ above the dining table top.
Will my fixture match the photographs? +
The brass crown and silhouette are made to consistent specification — your fixture will read identically in form. The ceramic flowers, however, are hand-painted and individually wired: flower placement, paint depth, exact pink tone, and gilt patina differ subtly between fixtures. The chandelier you receive will sit within the same visual language as the photographs but will be visibly distinct under close inspection — the character of hand-painted French tole work.
How heavy is it and what ceiling support do I need? +
Approximately 12–18 kg (26–40 lbs) assembled — at the upper edge of standard residential junction-box rating (≈ 25 kg / 55 lbs). Your electrician should install a UL-listed heavy-duty fixture brace or anchor to a structural joist for long-term reliability. Contact us for confirmed shipping weight before installation.
What bulbs should I use? +
6 candelabra-base candle bulbs, supplied by your installer. We recommend clear-envelope candle LEDs at 2700K warm white, ≤ 25W incandescent-equivalent. Clear glass reads best with the gilt brass and hand-painted ceramic — frosted bulbs flatten the period-correct candle-light effect and are not recommended. For period-faithful flame effect, dimmable LED candelabra bulbs with flickering filament profile are widely available from US specialty retailers.
Is it dimmable? Lutron-compatible? +
Standard wiring is non-dimming. TRIAC-dimmable wiring is available as a custom build — please specify when contacting us before ordering. Compatible with Lutron Caséta, Diva, and forward-phase wall dimmers when paired with dimmable LED candelabra bulbs.
Custom finishes & trade? +
Custom builds: alternative gilt finishes (antique brass, French gilt with rubbed highlights, silver-plated brass) and alternative ceramic flower colors (white, blue, peach, sage) quotable on request. Hospitality-grade construction suits luxury hotel suites, members-club libraries, French Country and Hollywood Regency residential projects, and historic-restoration projects. ETL listing available on request. Contact our trade desk for project-quantity coordination.

Meet the romancethat never wilts.
Fresh flowers last a week. These were shaped by hand and fired in flame to bloom above your table for decades — a bouquet of porcelain and aged brass that opens, every evening, the moment you reach for the switch.

In a hurried world, keep one corner where time is allowed to slow.
A poem written in clay and flame.
Three materials, three temperaments — soft earth, patient fire, and metal that grows lovelier with age. Together they make a flower that time cannot touch.

From soft earth to eternal bloom, in five patient steps.
Most lamps are assembled in minutes. Ours pass through human hands and a wall of fire — this is the whole journey, nothing skipped.

Waking the clay

Sculpting the petals

The trial of fire

The blush

Gathering the bouquet
One bloom, three blushes.
Every design in the collection is hand-tinted in one of three glazes — the brush decides the mood, you decide the room.

Choose your colour on each product page — the shape stays, the blush is yours.
The seventeen you can actually order.
The bloom is glazed by brush; the branch beneath it is finished the same careful way — seventeen numbered metal finishes, from bright brass to blackened iron, so the stem matches the room the flowers will live in.
Order by number, not by name. "Antique brass," "aged brass," "burnished brass" — ask five workshops what those mean and five different metals come back. Finish 03 is the same physical sample on the atelier bench and on your packing list.
And because no screen renders metal honestly, we ship the physical swatch before anything is committed. Hold it beside the porcelain glaze you've chosen, at the hour you actually use the room — then send the number.
Choose your stem finish on each product page — the bloom stays yours, the metal is now, too.
A sculpture that happens to be a lamp.
Switched off, it earns its place on looks alone — a still-life relief of porcelain blooms and brass leaves that sits as calmly against floral wallpaper as against plain plaster. Guests will assume it's art first, and they won't be wrong.

Daytime: a quiet porcelain still-life
Meet « Rosalie » — the chandelier in these photos →The room becomes an enchanted garden.
Then evening comes. Light pours through the frosted petals and catches every crystal drop, and the whole bouquet begins to glow from within — walls washed in warm bloom-shadows, the room suddenly somewhere out of a storybook.

Nighttime: the fairy-tale forest, on demand
Meet « Rosalie » — the chandelier in these photos →One evening, three rooms in bloom.
Follow the light through the house — dinner beneath the chandelier, roses down the hallway, and a last bloom glowing at your pillow. Open each window and step inside.

The grand branching chandelier, made for the living room or dining table — an entire flowering bough overhead, and the first thing every guest looks up at.

A single bloom on the wall — beside the vanity, along a hallway, framing a mirror. Hang them in pairs and an ordinary corridor becomes a rose walk.

A small bouquet for the nightstand or reading nook — petal-filtered light gentle enough to fall asleep beside, lovely enough to wake up to.
A gift worth handing down.
Porcelain deserves to be treated like porcelain — from our workbench to your doorstep, here is how we keep that promise.
No two of our petals curl quite the same way — each was shaped by fingertips, not a mold. The blush of the glaze shifts a little from bloom to bloom, because the brush loads a little differently every time.
None of these is a flaw. They are the signature of the hands that made yours — the one thing a factory line can never copy.

Some flowers are given.
This one is kept.
A porcelain bouquet says what cut flowers say — and then keeps saying it, year after year.

Measuring for Pendant Lighting
When installing pendants and chandeliers, it’s important to consider how you want your fixtures to hang in relation to the other furnishings in your space. Read on for our recommendations on how to hang the perfect light.
Kitchen
Aim for 30–36″ from the bottom of your fixture’s shade to the top of your island or countertop. Space multiple pendants 26–30″ apart. For a sense of proportion and balance, allow 12″ from the outermost fixture to the edge of your counter.
Dining Room
For optimal lighting and visibility, the bottom of your pendant should sit 30″ from the surface of your dining table. To scale your fixture, take the length and width of the room in feet, then convert that to inches. For a 10′ by 14′ room, the chandelier should be about 24″ wide.
Bedroom
If you’re hanging a pendant above a nightstand, allow for at least 30″ between the bottom of the shade and your nightstand’s surface. To keep the look balanced, center your pendant over your nightstand.
