Chaque abat-jour est façonné en papier washi mûrier fait à la main — la même tradition artisanale du papier pratiquée au Japon depuis plus de mille ans. Le washi fabriqué à partir de fibre de mûrier (kozo) produit un papier d'une solidité et d'une translucidité exceptionnelles : les longues fibres du liber créent une surface à texture irrégulière visible qui diffuse la lumière en une lueur douce, chaleureuse et complètement sans éblouissement. Aucun abat-jour n'est identique — le papier porte la marque de la main qui l'a façonné.
La suspension pend d'un cordon noir à branchement avec interrupteur intégré on/off — 450 cm de câble sans installation électrique ni électricien. Sept configurations vont des grappes compactes à trois têtes aux suspensions hautes simples atteignant 470 cm — conçues pour les escaliers, espaces à double hauteur et atriums où une forme verticale élancée est l'intention architecturale.

Ce luminaire utilise un cordon noir à brancher (450 cm / 177″) équipé d'un interrupteur intégré — pas de câblage encastré, pas de boîte de dérivation, pas d'électricien. Drapez le cordon depuis un crochet de plafond (inclus ou fourni séparément), branchez-le sur n'importe quelle prise murale, et utilisez l'interrupteur pour commander la lumière indépendamment du commutateur de votre pièce. Idéal pour les espaces locatifs, les pièces sans installation électrique au plafond et les installations où un repositionnement peut être nécessaire.

Les ampoules ne sont pas incluses. Chaque douille est E26 (US) ou E27 (international). Pour les abat-jour en papier washi, une ampoule LED de 6 à 10 W à 2700K blanc chaud avec un diffuseur dépoli ou opalin est recommandée — l'émission douce se diffuse uniformément à travers le papier translucide sans créer de point chaud visible. Évitez les ampoules à verre clair ou filament nu au-delà de 4 W — le filament peut apparaître comme un point brillant à travers le fin papier washi.

Qu'est-ce que le papier washi mulberry ? +
Le washi est un papier japonais fabriqué à la main à partir des fibres libériennes du kozo (mûrier). Les longues fibres entrecroisées créent une feuille simultanément plus résistante et plus translucide que le papier à base de cellulose — elle diffuse la lumière à travers sa surface plutôt que de l'occulter, produisant une lueur chaude et douce avec une texture fibreuse visible. Comme chaque feuille est formée à la main, l'épaisseur, la distribution des fibres et le motif de surface varient légèrement entre les tons. Ceci est inhérent à l'art du papier, non une imperfection.
Comment accrocher un luminaire suspendu plug-in ? +
La méthode la plus courante est un crochet au plafond — un petit crochet adhésif ou à visser monté au plafond au point de suspension souhaité. Drapez le cordon noir sur le crochet, ajustez la hauteur de suspension et branchez-le dans une prise murale à proximité. L'interrupteur intégré sur le cordon commande la lumière indépendamment. Aucun câblage n'est nécessaire et aucun trou n'est percé au plafond si un crochet adhésif est utilisé. Pour les configurations lourdes ou hautes, un crochet au plafond à visser et dimensionné est recommandé.
Quelle configuration conviendra à mon espace ? +
Pour les plafonds standards (2,4–3 m) : les versions 3-têtes S, M ou L conviennent — choisissez selon le diamètre pour harmoniser votre table ou espace. Pour les plafonds plus hauts (3–4 m) : la 5-têtes (H 270 cm) ou le Single 220 cm créent un élément dramatique vertical. Pour les espaces à double hauteur ou les atriums au-dessus de 4 m : les versions Single 340 ou 470 cm sont conçues spécifiquement pour remplir un vide important avec une unique forme washi ininterrompue. Confirmez toujours la hauteur libre du plafond avant de commander une configuration haute.
Comment entretenir une abat-jour en papier washi ? +
Le papier washi est durable mais doit rester sec. Évitez d'installer dans des zones humides ou près de sources d'humidité directe. Époussetez doucement avec un pinceau sec et doux ou un embout d'aspirateur à faible aspiration — ne nettoyez pas avec un chiffon humide. Les petites bosses ou plis peuvent parfois être atténués en humidifiant légèrement la zone affectée avec la vapeur à distance, puis en laissant sécher naturellement. Tenez-la à l'écart des contacts directs car les huiles des doigts peuvent laisser des taches avec le temps.

Q1. Does it really need no wiring or electrician?
Correct — no junction box, no breaker, no electrician. Wall sconces mount with a simple included bracket; pendants hang from a discreet ceiling hook and swag across to your outlet. A paper template and all the hardware are in the box, and most installs take about five minutes.
Q2. What outlet, voltage and cord does it use?
Each light ships with the right plug for your region — US (Type A, 120V), EU (Type C, 230V) or UK (Type G, 230V) — on a standard cord of roughly 2–3 m, with longer lengths on request. Run the cord discreetly along trim with the included clips, or let a fabric or braided cord hang as part of the look. Need a specific plug or length? Tell us at checkout.
Q3. What bulb does it use, and is it dimmable?
Bulbs vary by fixture, so check the one listed on each product page. Most take a standard screw socket — E26 in North America, E27 elsewhere — while a few use other fittings. Whatever the bulb, every light is built for a warm 3000K glow and is dimmable with a compatible dimmable bulb plus an inline dimmer or smart plug.
Q4. Can I get one of your hardwired designs as a plug-in?
Almost always, yes. Tell us the model you love and your preferred cord colour and length, and we will build a plug-in cord-and-switch version — the same design and finish, ready for any outlet. Email us and we will confirm feasibility and pricing.
Q5. What about returns, warranty and support?
Every light is bench-tested before it leaves our workshop and backed by worry-free after-sales support covering the electrical components and structural integrity. If anything is wrong on arrival or in normal use, email support@radilum.com and we will make it right with a replacement, parts or refund.

Measuring for Pendant Lighting
When installing pendants and chandeliers, it’s important to consider how you want your fixtures to hang in relation to the other furnishings in your space. Read on for our recommendations on how to hang the perfect light.
Kitchen
Aim for 30–36″ from the bottom of your fixture’s shade to the top of your island or countertop. Space multiple pendants 26–30″ apart. For a sense of proportion and balance, allow 12″ from the outermost fixture to the edge of your counter.
Dining Room
For optimal lighting and visibility, the bottom of your pendant should sit 30″ from the surface of your dining table. To scale your fixture, take the length and width of the room in feet, then convert that to inches. For a 10′ by 14′ room, the chandelier should be about 24″ wide.
Bedroom
If you’re hanging a pendant above a nightstand, allow for at least 30″ between the bottom of the shade and your nightstand’s surface. To keep the look balanced, center your pendant over your nightstand.
