Een omgekeerde-kom plafondpendel in de taal van de 1930s Art Deco-verlichting — een brede ondiepe alabastkom opgehangen aan vier slanke messingen stangen die samenkomen in een klein centraal plafondonderdeel. De kom is handgesneden uit een enkel blok Spaans alabast, met zes gloeilampen verborgen binnen, die een ambient uplightgloed door de steen en tegen het plafond werpen.
Het messingen frame is handmatig geverouderd met een vintage afwerking — dieper in de ingezonken naad waar de kom de rand raakt, helderder op de gepolijste stangen. Het resultaat is een armatuur dat aanvoelt als een gloeiend alabastobject in plaats van een kroonluchter met zichtbare gloeilampen. Perfect voor gangen, woonkamers, hallen, slaapkamers en lagere ruimten waar een flush-mount effect gewenst is zonder aan impact in te leveren — even passend in residentiële als in hospitality-interieurs.

- Plaats eerst de gloeilampen in de kom, en bevestig de kom daarna aan het frame.

Voor welke kamergrootte is de Dionne geschikt? +
Met ∅ 16,5″ × H 16,5″ past hij prima in gangen en corridors van 6–10 m², slaapkamers en woonkamers van 14–22 m², en entreehal's tot 18 m². Het semi-inbouwprofiel (slechts 51 cm / 20″ totale uitval) is vooral geschikt voor plafonds van 2,4–2,7 m waar een dieper hangende kroonluchter te laag zou hangen.
Waarom ziet elke alabasten kom er iets anders uit? +
Het alabast wordt in Aragón, Spanje uit natuurlijke blokken gesneden en handgeslepen. De wolkachtige nerven, kleurdiepte en doorzichtigheid zijn eigenschappen van het natuursteen — geen twee kommen zijn identiek. Dit karakter van het materiaal is geen fout, en het is juist een van de redenen waarom alabast sinds Romeinse tijden wordt gewaardeerd voor sfeerverlichting.
Is de Dionne dimbaar? +
Ja, met de juiste gloeilamp. Elke fitting neemt een E26 (VS) of E27 (EU) schroefvoet gloeilamp. Installeer dimmbare LED-lampen op een TRIAC wanddimmer en de hanglamp dimmet soepel. Warm wit 2700K–3000K wordt aanbevolen voor een fraai effect tegen het alabastgloed.
Wat voor licht geeft het? +
De zes gloeilampen zijn verborgen in de kom, dus het licht straalt omhoog door het alabast naar het plafond in plaats van naar beneden te schijnen. Het resultaat is indirecte sfeerverlichting — zachter en sfeervoller dan een spotterend type — met de kom zelf als secundaire lichtbron. Ideaal gecombineerd met afzonderlijke werkverlichting als je directe werklicht nodig hebt.
Kan ik het in een laag plafond installeren? +
Ja — de Dionne is eigenlijk een semi-inbouw hanglamp. Totale uitval van baldakijn tot kombasis is ongeveer 51 cm (20″), korter dan de meeste kroonluchters. Het werkt prima in plafonds van 2,4 m (8 ft) en is geschikt voor gangen en ruimtes waar een langere uitval storend zou zijn. De suspensiestaaf van 30 cm kan indien nodig ook worden ingekort.

We are unable to specify, select, or replicate any particular pattern. Ink marbling, lightning veins, ice-crack formations, and snowflake inclusions are inherent characteristics of the material and do not constitute a quality issue. Every alabaster lamp begins as raw stone and arrives in your hands only after passing through a sequence of precise, unhurried steps — performed by artisans who know how to listen to the material before they shape it.
Material Selection
Rough blocks are hand-assessed at the quarry for translucence, structural integrity, and depth of colour within.
Precision Cutting
Diamond instruments slice the stone into workable panels, guided by its natural grain rather than against it.
Sculpting
Artisans turn, carve, and hollow each form by hand — responding to the stone's character as it is revealed.
Hand Polishing
Progressively finer grits refine the surface until the stone's interior luminosity is fully realised.
Final Assembly
LED modules, solid brass fittings, and hand-finished hardware are fitted and inspected — each piece individually, never in batches.

Every alabaster fixture is completed by its metalwork — the canopy, stem, arms, and fittings that carry the stone and frame its glow. Each is available in seventeen numbered finishes from the Radilum Finishes Library: brass, bronze, iron, steel, nickel, and chrome characters, hand-applied and sealed, or a custom patina grown to match a sample you send us.

Alabaster is genuine natural stone — each fixture carries substantial weight and deserves the same careful handling you would extend to any fine sculpture. A few simple practices will preserve both piece and electrical integrity for a lifetime.
- 01Never lift by the power cord.The cord is not load-bearing. Tension applied to it can damage internal LED wiring and lead to connection failure over time.
- 02Always support the stone body.Cradle the fixture with both hands when moving or installing. For larger pieces, two people are strongly recommended.
- 03Clean gently; dust often.A dry, soft cloth is all that is needed. Avoid water, solvents, and abrasives — they will dull the polished surface irreversibly.

Measuring for Pendant Lighting
When installing pendants and chandeliers, it’s important to consider how you want your fixtures to hang in relation to the other furnishings in your space. Read on for our recommendations on how to hang the perfect light.
Kitchen
Aim for 30–36″ from the bottom of your fixture’s shade to the top of your island or countertop. Space multiple pendants 26–30″ apart. For a sense of proportion and balance, allow 12″ from the outermost fixture to the edge of your counter.
Dining Room
For optimal lighting and visibility, the bottom of your pendant should sit 30″ from the surface of your dining table. To scale your fixture, take the length and width of the room in feet, then convert that to inches. For a 10′ by 14′ room, the chandelier should be about 24″ wide.
Bedroom
If you’re hanging a pendant above a nightstand, allow for at least 30″ between the bottom of the shade and your nightstand’s surface. To keep the look balanced, center your pendant over your nightstand.
