Een U-vormige koperen stalen beugel houdt een koepel van wit Spaans albast in een gedefinieerde negatieve ruimte — de beugel omsluit de steen zonder hem in te sluiten, zodat de wand erachter zichtbaar blijft door de open boog. Spaans albast is een fijnkorrelig gypssteen van hoge zuiverheid: bijna doorzichtig, met een zachte interne melkachtigheid die hem onderscheidt van dichtere marmersoorten. Wanneer de G9-bron geactiveerd wordt, zendt de koepel licht door zijn eigen minerale structuur, waardoor het natuurlijke aderstelsel van de steen van binnenuit wordt verlicht in plaats van vanaf een oppervlak te worden gereflecteerd.
De U-beugel is handafgewerkt in een warme koperen toon — een roodbruin metaalglans die warm uitkomt tegen het bleke steen en aansluit bij de natuurlijke room-tot-witte variatie van het albast. Twee formaten — een compacte 27 cm en een standaard 38 cm — passen bij verschillende wandhoogten en ruimteverdeling. Beide formaten hebben dezelfde diepte van 10 cm en zitten dicht tegen het wand.

Elke steen is uniek. Spaans albast is een natuurlijk materiaal met individuele aderingen, tonale variatie en doorzichtigheid in elk stuk. De koepel die u ontvangt zal niet identiek zijn aan de foto's — subtiele verschillen in aderpatroon en room-tot-witte variatie zijn inherent aan de steen, geen gebrek.
G9-fitting — controleer bulbspanning vóór aankoop. Deze armatuur gebruikt een G9 bi-pin fitting voor AC 110V netspanning. De meeste G9-bulbs die in bouwmarkten worden verkocht zijn 12V laagspanning — het gebruik van een 12V G9-bulb in deze armatuur zal onmiddellijk mislukking tot gevolg hebben. Bij het aanschaffen van bulbs, kiest u specifiek voor G9 AC 110V gewaardeerde LED-capsules. Gebruik geen standaard G4 of G9 12V halogeen- of LED-capsules.

Wat is Spaans alabast? +
Spaans albast is een fijnkorrelige gypssteen die voornamelijk in Aragón, Spanje wordt gewonnen — een van de belangrijkste bronnen van decoratief albast in Europa. Het is aanzienlijk doorzichtiger dan de meeste marmersoorten: licht gaat door de steen heen in plaats van van het oppervlak terug te kaatsen, waardoor de minerale structuur van binnenuit wordt verlicht. De witte variëteit wordt gekenmerkt door een schone, melkachtige doorzichtigheid met subtiele aderingen — warmer en meer organisch dan matglas, zachter dan gepolijst marmer.
Klein of groot — wat past bij mijn ruimte? +
De Klein (H 27 cm) is goed proportioneerd voor gebruik aan het bed, smalle gangen en wanden onder de 2,4 m. Geplaatst in paren aan weerszijden van een hoofdeinde, bieden twee kleine lampen goede bedside-verlichting zonder de wand te overstemmen. De Groot (H 38 cm) heeft meer aanwezigheid — beter geschikt voor karakterwanden in woonkamers, primaire slaapkamers met hogere plafonds, en installaties waar de lamp van grotere afstand goed zichtbaar moet zijn. Beide hebben dezelfde wanduitsteking van 10 cm, dus plafondhoogte is geen onderscheidend factor tussen de twee.
Welke gloeilamp moet ik gebruiken — en waarom is spanning belangrijk? +
Deze armatuur gebruikt een G9-fitting bij AC 110V netspanning — niet het 12V laagspannings G9-systeem dat gebruikelijk is in Europese track- en inbouwarmaturen. Bij het aanschaffen van bulbs, moet u specifiek zoeken naar G9 AC 110V LED-capsules — een 12V G9-bulb zal onmiddellijk in deze armatuur mislukken. Voor het albastscherm werkt een 2–4W G9 LED bij 2700–3000K warm wit het beste: warm wit benadrukt de natuurlijke crème-toon van de steen en produceert een zachter, vleiender licht door het albast dan koude-witte bronnen.
Kunnen twee lampen gepaaard aan weerszijden van een hoofdeinde worden geplaatst? +
Ja — Bernina is ontworpen voor symmetrische plaatsing in paren en ook voor enkele installatie. Voor een standaard hoofdeinde (150–180 cm breed) bieden twee Small lampen op 50–60 cm van het midden aan beide zijden geconcentreerd bedlamplicht met passende visuele balans. Voor een breder of hoger hoofdeinde (200 cm+) creëert de Large maat een betere proportionele gewichtsverhouding. Beide formaten zijn hardwired, dus plan de bedrading vooraf — de positie van de backplate bepaalt de uiteindelijke lamppositie nauwkeurig.

Rough blocks are hand-assessed at the quarry for translucence, structural integrity, and depth of colour within.
Precision Cutting
Diamond instruments slice the stone into workable panels, guided by its natural grain rather than against it.
Sculpting
Artisans turn, carve, and hollow each form by hand — responding to the stone's character as it is revealed.
Hand Polishing
Progressively finer grits refine the surface until the stone's interior luminosity is fully realised.
Final Assembly
LED modules, solid brass fittings, and hand-finished hardware are fitted and inspected — each piece individually, never in batches.

Each is available in seventeen numbered finishes from the Radilum Finishes Library: brass, bronze, iron, steel, nickel, and chrome characters, hand-applied and sealed, or a custom patina grown to match a sample you send us.

Alabaster is genuine natural stone — each fixture carries substantial weight and deserves the same careful handling you would extend to any fine sculpture. A few simple practices will preserve both piece and electrical integrity for a lifetime.
- 01Never lift by the power cord.The cord is not load-bearing. Tension applied to it can damage internal LED wiring and lead to connection failure over time.
- 02Always support the stone body.Cradle the fixture with both hands when moving or installing. For larger pieces, two people are strongly recommended.
- 03Clean gently; dust often.A dry, soft cloth is all that is needed. Avoid water, solvents, and abrasives — they will dull the polished surface irreversibly.

Measuring for Pendant Lighting
When installing pendants and chandeliers, it’s important to consider how you want your fixtures to hang in relation to the other furnishings in your space. Read on for our recommendations on how to hang the perfect light.
Kitchen
Aim for 30–36″ from the bottom of your fixture’s shade to the top of your island or countertop. Space multiple pendants 26–30″ apart. For a sense of proportion and balance, allow 12″ from the outermost fixture to the edge of your counter.
Dining Room
For optimal lighting and visibility, the bottom of your pendant should sit 30″ from the surface of your dining table. To scale your fixture, take the length and width of the room in feet, then convert that to inches. For a 10′ by 14′ room, the chandelier should be about 24″ wide.
Bedroom
If you’re hanging a pendant above a nightstand, allow for at least 30″ between the bottom of the shade and your nightstand’s surface. To keep the look balanced, center your pendant over your nightstand.
