The Brady is a rocker arm wall sconce — the lamp head pivots on its arm mount, allowing precise directional adjustment without repositioning the fixture on the wall. The aluminum body keeps the assembly lightweight and resistant to heat; the silver finish is consistent across the arm, joint, and head. Three arm-length configurations — compact (W 12 cm), medium (W 50 cm), and extended (W 72 cm) — offer different reaches from the wall surface, suiting different installation positions and task requirements.
As a plug-in sconce, the Brady requires no hardwiring — the cord routes from the wall plate to a standard wall outlet. This makes it particularly suited to rental spaces, bedside positions where a switched outlet is already present, and any room without existing wall wiring at the intended lamp location. The E26 socket accepts standard bulbs, giving full control over brightness, color temperature, and beam angle through bulb choice.

Installation
Plug-In — No Hardwiring Required
Mount the wall plate at your preferred position using the supplied hardware. The cord routes from the plate to a standard wall outlet — run it vertically down the wall or conceal behind furniture. No electrical work is required, and the fixture can be repositioned easily if needed. A cord cover (available at hardware stores) gives the cleanest wall finish.
Bulbs are not included. The Brady uses a standard E26 (US) or E27 (international) socket. For task and reading use, a 6–10W LED spotlight or directional bulb at 3000–4000K neutral white gives the clearest, most focused output — neutral white reduces eye strain during extended reading better than warm white. A standard frosted A19/A60 LED at 2700K warm white is also suitable for ambient rather than task use.

Which arm length should I choose? +
The compact (W 12 cm) is for tight spaces — narrow hallways, small bedside tables where the lamp head only needs to clear the wall, or positions where the pivot adjustment alone provides enough directionality. The medium (W 50 cm) is the most versatile — it reaches far enough from the wall to position the head over a bedside table, work surface, or reading chair without the arm getting in the way. The extended (W 72 cm) is for positions where the wall mount point is farther from the target surface — a lamp mounted above and to the side of a wide desk, or a bedside mount set back from a wide headboard.
How does the rocker pivot work? +
The pivot joint connects the lamp head to the end of the arm — the head rocks forward and backward on this joint, allowing the direction of light to be adjusted without moving the arm or the wall plate. The range of adjustment covers the most useful task angles: from pointing nearly straight down (for a focused pool on a surface directly below) to angled outward (for ambient or reading light at a shallower angle). The head holds position once set; if it loses tension over time, the joint can typically be tightened with a small screwdriver.
What bulb is best for reading and task lighting? +
For focused reading and task work, a 6–10W LED at 3000K neutral warm white or 4000K neutral white — E26 for US, E27 internationally. Neutral white (3000–4000K) reduces eye strain over extended reading sessions better than very warm white (2700K), which can cause fatigue on white-paper text. A spotlight or directional PAR bulb with a narrow beam angle (25–40°) focuses the output on the task surface rather than scattering it into the room. A standard frosted A19 at 2700K works for softer ambient use when task precision is not the priority.
Is it dimmable? +
Yes, when fitted with a dimmable LED bulb and a compatible plug-in in-line cord dimmer (sold separately — a rotary or slider control inserted between the lamp cord and the wall outlet). Alternatively, plug into a switched outlet connected to a TRIAC wall dimmer. Specify “dimmable” when purchasing the LED bulb. For task lamps used for reading, a dimmer is particularly useful: run at full output for focused work and reduce to 30–50% for ambient or relaxed use in the same position.

Measuring for Pendant Lighting
When installing pendants and chandeliers, it’s important to consider how you want your fixtures to hang in relation to the other furnishings in your space. Read on for our recommendations on how to hang the perfect light.
Kitchen
Aim for 30–36″ from the bottom of your fixture’s shade to the top of your island or countertop. Space multiple pendants 26–30″ apart. For a sense of proportion and balance, allow 12″ from the outermost fixture to the edge of your counter.
Dining Room
For optimal lighting and visibility, the bottom of your pendant should sit 30″ from the surface of your dining table. To scale your fixture, take the length and width of the room in feet, then convert that to inches. For a 10′ by 14′ room, the chandelier should be about 24″ wide.
Bedroom
If you’re hanging a pendant above a nightstand, allow for at least 30″ between the bottom of the shade and your nightstand’s surface. To keep the look balanced, center your pendant over your nightstand.
