Italian-Style Marble · Brass Cartouche · Art Deco Archway Sconce
A wall sconce in the language of 1920s American Art Deco architecture — a tall arched-niche silhouette hand-cut from a single block of natural marble, with a smaller arched brass cartouche set into the face. Light spills from a concealed integrated LED at the base of the cartouche, washing upward to silhouette the brass plate against the glowing marble behind it.
The arched-niche form references the monumental lobby and theater sconces of early 20th-century American Art Deco architecture — marble or stone arches framing brass or bronze plate work. Each marble slab is hand-cut and unique: choose Calacatta Viola–style (Purple) for dramatic violet-and-cream veining as pictured, or Statuario-style (White) for a quieter pale-stone register. Suited to entry foyers, primary bedrooms, hallway pairs, dressing rooms, and gallery walls in modern Art Deco, contemporary, and Italian-inspired interiors.

Installation
- Hardwires to a standard wall junction box — professional installation recommended.
- Concealed mounting plate sits behind the marble; verify wall outlet position before drilling.
- Heavy stone fixture: the marble slab adds weight beyond a standard sconce. Use heavy-duty wall anchors rated for at least 5 kg, especially on drywall.
- Install at 60–66″ above finished floor for hallway and bedside use; for entry-foyer or gallery installations, position to align with the surrounding artwork or panel rhythm rather than at standard sconce height.
- For flanking pairs, space evenly to either side of a console table, mirror, or doorway.
- No bulbs to install — integrated LED is built in and pre-wired.
- Indoor only · clean marble with a soft dry cloth or barely damp cloth; avoid acidic or abrasive cleaners which etch natural stone.

FAQ
What height should I install it at? +
For hallways and bedside walls, 60–66″ from finished floor to the center of the sconce works well. For entry foyers and gallery walls, position the sconce to align with surrounding artwork or panel rhythm rather than at standard sconce height. For flanking pairs, space evenly on either side of a console, mirror, or doorway.
Will my marble look exactly like the photo? +
No — and that's the point. Each archway is hand-cut from a fresh block of natural marble, so veining patterns, color depth, and the location of dark and light bands shift from piece to piece. The photo shows representative character; your sconce will be uniquely yours. We can occasionally accommodate dramatic / quieter veining preferences — please contact us before ordering.
Is the Archway Marble dimmable? +
The default integrated LED is non-dimmable warm white (3000K). A TRIAC-dimmable version is available as a custom build — pair with a standard TRIAC wall dimmer for smooth brightness control. Please contact us before ordering and specify "TRIAC-dimmable" so we ship the right variant. Custom builds may extend lead time.
Can I get a different color temperature? +
The standard light is warm white 3000K — best for residential and hospitality spaces, and most flattering for the marble's natural tone and the brass cartouche. If you need neutral white (4000K) or daylight (5000K), please contact us before ordering — custom CT options are available on request.
What's the design language behind the archway? +
The arched-niche silhouette references 1920s American Art Deco architecture — the monumental lobby sconces and theater entries of that era used exactly this shape, with marble or stone arches framing brass or bronze plate work. The integrated cartouche pulls the same vocabulary into a residential-scale wall fixture.
Can I install it in a bathroom? +
The Archway suits powder rooms and bath vanities away from direct shower spray. Avoid placing it directly above a shower or tub where steam and water make sustained contact — natural marble can etch when exposed to acidic moisture and humidity over time. For wet-zone installations, please contact us.

The Marble Series
Sculptural fixtures hewn from natural stone — each one carrying the signature of geology, time, and the human hand.
Pressure, heat, and one hundred million years — nature's slowest brushwork. Each lamp wears a pattern that exists once, and never again.
From Stone to Illumination
Marble is not a finish. It is a material with a memory.
A metamorphic rock, marble is born of recrystallized carbonate minerals — limestone subjected to heat and pressure deep within the earth's crust over geological time. Its distinctive veining, the subtle gradient of its color, the cool weight of its surface — all are records of the forces that shaped it across millions of years.
Three Marks of Authenticity
Three qualities you will only find in genuine, quarried marble — and never in anything cast, printed, or manufactured to imitate it.
Distinctive Veining
Each vein traces the path of mineral seepage millions of years ago. Nature's own brushwork — a pattern that exists once, on this lamp, and nowhere else on earth.
Subtle Tonality
Cream, ivory and pearl grey deepen in soft gradients, occasionally crossed by veins of warm caramel. Quiet, natural tones that grace every interior style.
Cool, Tactile Hand
A density and coolness only ancient stone can offer. Marble holds the air around it — substantial, calming, real. A weight you feel before you see.
Five Stages of Slow Craft
From the raw block extracted at the quarry, to the moment the lamp is wired and tested in our atelier — every fixture passes through five hand-guided stages.
Quarrying
Solid blocks are extracted from the foothills, where geological forces left their finest seams. Only stones with sound structure and clean veining are selected.
Slab Cutting
Diamond-tipped blades part the block into precise slabs — each cut is a first reveal of the unique veining hidden inside the stone for millennia.
Shaping & Carving
Each form is cut by skilled hands — a patient negotiation between the designer's intent and the grain of the stone itself.
Hollow & Polish
The interior is bored to delicate walls so warm light may pass through. The exterior is honed and hand-polished to its final, luminous finish.
Assembly
Wiring, sockets and fittings are integrated by our atelier team. Each fixture is bench-tested and inspected before it leaves the workshop.
