The iron & brass story

Cast, chased and finished by hand

Our brass and iron fixtures are cast, chased and finished in our own workshop — gold-leafed, bronzed or lacquered by hand, which is why no two carry exactly the same glow. Colour is grown in the finishing bath rather than sprayed on, then sealed to age gracefully. Choose a finish above, or ask for any other metal finish from the Finishes Library.

Placing a flush or semi-flush light

Ceiling height decides the mount; room size decides the diameter.

Ceiling heightUnder 8 ft use a flush mount; 8–9 ft a semi-flush hanging 6–12″; keep 7 ft clear below in walkways.

Room sizeLength + width in feet ≈ diameter in inches — a 12 × 14 ft room takes a fixture around 26″.
