Spanish Alabaster Globes · Brass Chain · Swag Pendant
A swag-style pendant in the language of 1970s Italian post-modern lighting — small alabaster globes drop from brass chains that catenary between fixed ceiling hooks, forming graceful arcing curves across the room. The form is half-architectural, half-jewelry: a chain garland punctuated by glowing alabaster orbs.
Each globe is hand-cut from a single block of Spanish alabaster quarried in Aragón — the natural cloud veining diffuses warm light through the stone with a softer character than glass or acrylic. Available in 1 to 5 heads, with chain length sized for the corresponding number of swag bays. Suited to dining tables, kitchen islands, stairwells, bay-window reading corners, and bedrooms in modern, eclectic, and post-modern interiors.

Finish — Choose at Checkout
Antique Brass
Warm honey gold with deeper recesses — the classic finish, as pictured. Suits transitional, modern, and warm-toned interiors.
Matte Black
Soft matte black chain and globe caps — a graphic, gallery-style alternative for modern and high-contrast schemes.
Hand-cut natural Spanish alabaster. Each globe is cut from a single block of Aragón alabaster — natural cloud veining, color depth, and translucency vary piece to piece. The piece pictured is representative; your globes will be unique. This is the character of natural stone, not a flaw.
Multi-hook installation required for 2+ heads. The swag silhouette is created by chains catenarying between fixed ceiling hooks. The 2-head version needs 2 hooks, the 3-head needs 3 hooks, the 4-head needs 4 hooks, and the 5-head needs 5 hooks in addition to the main canopy. Plan hook placement carefully before final installation — the chain sag forms naturally between hooks and cannot be repositioned after final hoist.

Installation
- Hardwires to a primary ceiling junction box for the canopy — professional installation strongly recommended.
- Multi-head versions require additional ceiling hooks to suspend the swag — install hooks before hoisting; chain catenaries are formed by hook spacing and cannot be re-tensioned afterward.
- Plan hook placement on a sketch first: 2-head needs 2 hooks (one swag bay), 5-head needs 5 hooks (four swag bays). Space hooks evenly across the swag run.
- For dining table use, position globes 30–36″ above tabletop. Aim hooks slightly higher than globe target height since globes hang below hooks.
- Fits E12 (US) or E14 (EU) candelabra-base bulbs — supply your own warm-white LED candle bulbs (one per globe).
- Indoor only · clean alabaster globes with a soft dry cloth; avoid solvents and abrasives.

FAQ
How many ceiling hooks do I need? +
One hook per head, plus the primary canopy. So: 2-head = 2 hooks, 3-head = 3 hooks, 4-head = 4 hooks, 5-head = 5 hooks. Hooks are not included — your electrician or installer will source heavy-duty ceiling hooks rated for the chain weight. Plan placement before final hoist; the swag arc forms naturally from hook spacing and can't be re-tensioned later.
Why does the chain length scale with head count? +
The total chain length covers the drop to the canopy plus the swag bays between hooks. Each additional head adds about 39.4″ (100 cm) of chain — enough to drape from one hook, dip into a swag, and rise to the next hook. For unusually tall ceilings or wide spans, contact us for custom chain lengths.
Will my alabaster look exactly like the photo? +
No — and that's the point. Each globe is hand-cut from a fresh block of Aragón alabaster, so cloud veining, color depth, and translucency vary piece to piece. The photo shows representative character; your globes will be uniquely yours. We can't match exact veining patterns but we do match tone within a single order.
Is the swag pendant dimmable? +
Yes, with the right bulbs. Each globe takes an E12 (US) or E14 (EU) candelabra-base bulb. Install dimmable LED candle bulbs on a TRIAC wall dimmer and the pendant dims smoothly. Warm white 2700K–3000K is recommended to bring out the alabaster glow.
How many heads should I order over a dining table? +
For dining tables under 4 ft, the 1-head or 2-head works centered. For 4–6 ft tables, 3-head. For 6–8 ft tables, 4-head. The 5-head is best for 8 ft+ tables, kitchen islands, or sweeping over a long entry corridor. Hang globes 30–36″ above the tabletop for proper clearance.
What bulbs does it take? +
E12 (US) or E14 (EU) candelabra-base bulbs — one per globe. We recommend warm-white 2700K–3000K LED candle bulbs at 25W incandescent equivalent each. The lower wattage suits the small globe size and prevents the alabaster from overheating during long use.

Sculpted by earth,
softened by light.
Rare natural alabaster, hand-carved by master artisans and illuminated from within. Every piece is unrepeatable — a singular convergence of geology and craft.
"Alabaster does not merely hold light — it breathes with it, casting a warmth that cannot be manufactured, only discovered."
Formed through millions of years of slow crystallisation, alabaster is among the world's most ancient decorative stones. When illuminated, it yields a quiet, golden luminosity — gentle, organic, irreducibly human. Our collection exists to honour that rarity, designing forms that allow the stone to speak without interruption.
No two stones
are ever alike.
Alabaster carries within it a geological autobiography — millions of years compressed into veining, crystalline structures, and tonal shifts that no craftsman could plan or replicate. Five expressive patterns emerge most consistently in our collection.

Pure
Clear SurfaceA near-uniform honey surface with barely perceptible variation — the rarest and most meditative expression of the stone.

Ink Marbling
Flowing VeinsSoft, fluid grey veining reminiscent of East Asian ink painting — atmospheric, unhurried, deeply contemplative.

Lightning Veins
Sharp BranchingBold, branching mineral lines that fracture the surface with dramatic precision — striking from any angle and in any light.

Ice Crack
Angular FracturesGeometric fissures suspended within the stone — sculptural formations that diffuse and scatter light with quiet drama.

Snowflake
Crystalline FlecksSuspended constellations of lighter crystalline matter — a delicate drift across the surface that catches light from within.
Natural Variance Is Not a Defect
Because alabaster is a living natural stone, every piece carries its own unique veining and tonal variation — a quality we celebrate rather than suppress. We are unable to specify, select, or replicate any particular pattern. Ink marbling, lightning veins, ice-crack formations, and snowflake inclusions are inherent characteristics of the material and do not constitute a quality issue. If you prefer a perfectly uniform finish, this collection may not align with your expectations — and we kindly invite you to consider this before placing your order.
One material,
every room in the home.
From the grandeur of a double-height chandelier to the intimate glow of a bedside lamp — alabaster scales with intention, adapting to every room's rhythm without sacrificing presence.
Five stages of
quiet craftsmanship.
Every alabaster lamp begins as raw stone and arrives in your hands only after passing through a sequence of precise, unhurried steps — performed by artisans who know how to listen to the material before they shape it.

Material Selection
Rough blocks are hand-assessed at the quarry for translucence, structural integrity, and depth of colour within.

Precision Cutting
Diamond instruments slice the stone into workable panels, guided by its natural grain rather than against it.

Sculpting
Artisans turn, carve, and hollow each form by hand — responding to the stone's character as it is revealed.

Hand Polishing
Progressively finer grits refine the surface until the stone's interior luminosity is fully realised.

Final Assembly
LED modules, solid brass fittings, and hand-finished hardware are fitted and inspected — each piece individually, never in batches.
To own an alabaster lamp is to welcome a piece of natural sculpture into your home — shaped by the earth over millennia, refined by artisans over weeks, and completed only in the moment it is illuminated.
Radilum Design Studio

Treat it as the
rare object it is.
Alabaster is genuine natural stone — each fixture carries substantial weight and deserves the same careful handling you would extend to any fine sculpture. A few simple practices will preserve both piece and electrical integrity for a lifetime.
- 01Never lift by the power cord. The cord is not load-bearing. Tension applied to it can damage internal LED wiring and lead to connection failure over time.
- 02Always support the stone body.Cradle the fixture with both hands when moving or installing. For larger pieces, two people are strongly recommended.
- 03Clean gently; dust often.A dry, soft cloth is all that is needed. Avoid water, solvents, and abrasives — they will dull the polished surface irreversibly.
See it in motion.
