Hand-Distressed Iron Mesh · Rust Patina · Industrial-Loft Pendant
A rustic-industrial mesh pendant in the salvaged-warehouse vocabulary — a hand-formed iron mesh sphere finished in coffee-toned rust patina, drawn from the cage-light tradition of early-20th-century American factory and farmhouse lighting. Suited to kitchen islands, breakfast nooks, primary entry foyers, and great-room reading corners in 5,000+ sq ft estates and luxury hotels — and built for clustering at staggered heights above long islands and dining tables.

Please Note — Updated Finish
The current production finish runs lighter than older catalogue images. Following manufacturing refinements, the rust patina now reads slightly whiter and brighter than some legacy photography. The reference image below represents what you will receive. Tonal variation between individual pieces is expected and is part of the hand-finished character.

Installation
- Licensed electrician required. Hardwired ceiling pendant via supplied canopy and 59″ wire.
- All mounting hardware and the 59″ / 150 cm wire are included; wire shortens on site to suit your ceiling.
- For cluster installations, hang at staggered drops 30–50 cm apart center-to-center on separate ceiling outlets or a multi-port cluster canopy.
- Bulbs supplied by installer — E26 / E27 LED at 2700K. Vintage Edison filament LEDs cast patterned light through the mesh.
- Care: dust with a soft brush or feather duster; vacuum on low setting with a soft brush attachment for accumulated dust. Avoid wet cleaning — moisture can affect the rust patina.
FAQ
Why does the actual product look lighter than some images? +
Following manufacturing refinements, the rust patina now reads slightly lighter and brighter than older catalogue photography. The reference image above represents the current production finish. Tonal variation piece to piece is normal — this is hand-aged patina, not factory-uniform paint.
Which size should I choose? +
Small (∅ 8.3″) suits hallways, reading nooks, primary-suite vignettes, or clusters of three to five over an island. Medium (∅ 13.8″) is the most versatile size — kitchen islands, dining tables seating 2–4, or a single statement above a breakfast nook. Large (∅ 18.9″) is built for high ceilings, dining tables seating 6–10, and open-plan great rooms. For islands wider than 60″, plan a row of two or three Mediums spaced 24–30″ apart center-to-center.
Can I cluster multiple Lanister pendants together? +
Yes — clustering is the intended application. Mix sizes for visual interest, or hang multiple of the same size at staggered drops. Allow 30–50 cm of horizontal spacing between fixtures and use separate ceiling outlets, or a multi-port cluster canopy for a single-junction install.
Which bulb do you recommend? +
E26 / E27 medium-base LED at 2700K warm white, 4–8W (≤ 60W incandescent equivalent). Vintage Edison filament LEDs read particularly well — the visible filament casts patterned shadows through the mesh. Avoid cool-white or daylight bulbs; they read out of place against the rust patina.
Can the hanging wire be shortened? +
Yes. The 59″ / 150 cm wire shortens on site during installation — your electrician can cut to the desired drop length to suit your ceiling.
Is the fixture dimmable? +
Yes — pair a dimmable LED bulb with a TRIAC wall dimmer (Lutron Caséta, Diva, and standard forward-phase dimmers all work). The fixture itself has no built-in dimmer; control is at the wall switch.
How do I clean the mesh shade? +
Dust gently with a soft brush or feather duster. For accumulated dust inside the mesh, use a vacuum with a soft brush attachment on low setting. Do not use water, glass cleaner, or any liquid — moisture can affect the rust patina and accelerate uneven aging.
Suitable for hospitality and trade projects? +
Yes — hospitality-grade. Hand-formed iron construction and hand-aged patina suit luxury hotel suites, restaurant private dining, members-club lounges, and industrial-loft or farmhouse residential projects. Architectural footnotes for the contemporary interior — steel, brass, iron, and the honest marks of the hands that shaped them.

From Factory Floor
to Gallery Wall.
The workshops of the early twentieth century were the most honest classrooms industrial design ever had. We take our sense of order from the Bauhaus, our raw material from the foundries of Manchester, and apply contemporary proportion so the result belongs in rooms that reward close attention.
Every fixture we make refuses to hide its structure — visible rivets, exposed cable sheathing, hand-laid joinery. What once belonged on the factory floor now reads as architecture within the room.

Waxed Finish
The weight you feel in your hand is the most honest language of quality — we refuse plastic, refuse thin walls, refuse lightness for its own sake.— Radilum Material Principle N°01
Molten Form
Sand casting runs alongside lost-wax at 1,450°C, leaving each iron piece with the honest mark of its gate.
Hand Welded
TIG welds laid by hand, visible by design. Every welder signs the work with a numbered stamp — traceable back to the piece.

Measuring for Pendant Lighting
When installing pendants and chandeliers, it’s important to consider how you want your fixtures to hang in relation to the other furnishings in your space. Read on for our recommendations on how to hang the perfect light.
Kitchen
Aim for 30–36″ from the bottom of your fixture’s shade to the top of your island or countertop. Space multiple pendants 26–30″ apart. For a sense of proportion and balance, allow 12″ from the outermost fixture to the edge of your counter.
Dining Room
For optimal lighting and visibility, the bottom of your pendant should sit 30″ from the surface of your dining table. To scale your fixture, take the length and width of the room in feet, then convert that to inches. For a 10′ by 14′ room, the chandelier should be about 24″ wide.
Bedroom
If you’re hanging a pendant above a nightstand, allow for at least 30″ between the bottom of the shade and your nightstand’s surface. To keep the look balanced, center your pendant over your nightstand.
