Elke kap is gemaakt van handgemaakt moerbeiwashi-papier — dezelfde papiermaakindustrie die in Japan al meer dan duizend jaar wordt beoefend. Washi gemaakt van moerbeivezel (kozo) produceert een vel van uitzonderlijke sterkte en doorschijnendheid: de lange bastvezelproduceren een oppervlak met een zichtbare, onregelmatige textuur die licht verspreidt tot een zacht, warm en volledig blaarloos glans. Geen twee kappen zijn identiek — het papier draagt het spoor van de hand die het vormde.
De armatuur hangt aan een zwart plug-in snoer met een ingebouwde inlineschakelaar — 450 cm snoer dat geen hardwiring en geen elektricien nodig heeft. Zeven configuraties variëren van compacte 3-armige clusters tot individuele lange hanglampen die 470 cm bereiken — ontworpen voor trappenhallen, dubbelhoge ruimtes en atria waar een lange verticale vorm architectonisch is beoogd.

Deze hanglamp gebruikt een zwart plug-in snoer (450 cm / 177″) met ingebouwde inline schakelaar — geen hardwiring, geen aansluitdoos, geen elektricien. Hang het snoer van een plafond haak (inbegrepen of afzonderlijk verkrijgbaar), steek in een stopcontact en gebruik de inline schakelaar om het licht onafhankelijk van uw kamerswitch in te schakelen. Ideaal voor huurpanden, kamers zonder plafondbedrading en installaties waar herpositionering nodig kan zijn.

Multi-kop clusters zijn geschikt voor standaard plafond hoogte. Hoge enkele hanglampen zijn ontworpen voor hoge plafonds en dubbelhoge ruimten — controleer de plafondhoogte voor bestelling.

Gloeilampen zijn niet inbegrepen. Elke fitting is E26 (US) of E27 (internationaal). Voor washi-papieren kappen wordt een 6–10W LED op 2700K warm wit met een gefrost of opaal diffuser aanbevolen — de zachte uitstraling verspreidt zich gelijkmatig door het doorschijnende papier zonder zichtbare hotspot. Vermijd helder glas of blote gloeidraden boven 4W — de gloeidraad kan als helder puntje door het dunne washi-papier zichtbaar zijn.

Wat is moerbeiwashi-papier? +
Washi is handgemaakt Japans papier dat wordt gemaakt van de bastvezels van de kozo (moerbei)plant. De lange, in elkaar grijpende vezels vormen een vel dat tegelijkertijd sterker en doorschijnender is dan papier op basis van houtpulp — het verspreidt licht door het oppervlak in plaats van het te blokkeren, wat resulteert in een zachte warme gloed met zichtbare vezelstructuur. Omdat elk vel met de hand wordt gemaakt, varieert de dikte, vezelverspreiding en oppervlaktepatroon licht tussen de kappen. Dit is inherent aan het ambacht, geen gebrek.
Hoe hang ik een snoerhangende lamp op? +
De meest gebruikelijke methode is een plafondhanger — een klein zelfklevend of schroefbaar haakje dat op het gewenste ophangpunt aan het plafond wordt bevestigd. Drape het zwarte snoer over het haakje, pas de lengte van de drop aan en steek het snoer in een nabijgelegen stopcontact. De aan/uit-schakelaar in het snoer schakelt het licht onafhankelijk in en uit. Er is geen bedrading nodig en als u een zelfklevend haakje gebruikt, worden er geen gaten in het plafond gemaakt. Voor zware of hoge configuraties wordt een belastingsgeschikte schroefbare plafondhanger aanbevolen.
Welke maat past in mijn ruimte? +
Voor standaardplafonds (2,4–3 m): de 3-kops S, M of L versies zijn passend — kies op diameter om aan uw tafel of ruimte aan te sluiten. Voor hogere plafonds (3–4 m): de 5-kops (H 270 cm) of Enkel 220 cm creëren een verticaal dramatisch element. Voor dubbelhogte of atriumruimtes boven 4 m: de Enkel 340 of 470 cm versies zijn speciaal ontworpen om een hoge ruimte met één ononderbroken washi-vorm op te vullen. Bevestig altijd de vrije plafonda hoogte voordat u een hoge configuratie bestelt.
Hoe verzorg ik een washi-papieren kap? +
Washi-papier is duurzaam maar moet droog blijven. Installeer niet in vochtige omgevingen of in de buurt van directe vochtbronnen. Stof voorzichtig met een zachte droge borstel of lage zuigkracht — niet met een vochtige doek afvegen. Kleine deuken of vouwen kunnen soms worden verlicht door het betreffende gebied licht met stoom uit een afstand te bevochtigen en vervolgens natuurlijk te laten drogen. Houd weg van direct aanraken omdat vettigheden van vingers in de loop der tijd kunnen verkleuren.

Q1. Does it really need no wiring or electrician?
Correct — no junction box, no breaker, no electrician. Wall sconces mount with a simple included bracket; pendants hang from a discreet ceiling hook and swag across to your outlet. A paper template and all the hardware are in the box, and most installs take about five minutes.
Q2. What outlet, voltage and cord does it use?
Each light ships with the right plug for your region — US (Type A, 120V), EU (Type C, 230V) or UK (Type G, 230V) — on a standard cord of roughly 2–3 m, with longer lengths on request. Run the cord discreetly along trim with the included clips, or let a fabric or braided cord hang as part of the look. Need a specific plug or length? Tell us at checkout.
Q3. What bulb does it use, and is it dimmable?
Bulbs vary by fixture, so check the one listed on each product page. Most take a standard screw socket — E26 in North America, E27 elsewhere — while a few use other fittings. Whatever the bulb, every light is built for a warm 3000K glow and is dimmable with a compatible dimmable bulb plus an inline dimmer or smart plug.

Measuring for Pendant Lighting
When installing pendants and chandeliers, it’s important to consider how you want your fixtures to hang in relation to the other furnishings in your space. Read on for our recommendations on how to hang the perfect light.
Kitchen
Aim for 30–36″ from the bottom of your fixture’s shade to the top of your island or countertop. Space multiple pendants 26–30″ apart. For a sense of proportion and balance, allow 12″ from the outermost fixture to the edge of your counter.
Dining Room
For optimal lighting and visibility, the bottom of your pendant should sit 30″ from the surface of your dining table. To scale your fixture, take the length and width of the room in feet, then convert that to inches. For a 10′ by 14′ room, the chandelier should be about 24″ wide.
Bedroom
If you’re hanging a pendant above a nightstand, allow for at least 30″ between the bottom of the shade and your nightstand’s surface. To keep the look balanced, center your pendant over your nightstand.
