Hourglass Brass Column · Antique Patina · Art Deco Floor Lamp
A sculptural floor lamp in the Art Deco hourglass-column vocabulary that defined American skyscraper-era interiors — a square brass column tapers from a stepped square base, narrows through a slim waist, and flares again to meet a tailored fabric drum shade. The brass is hand-finished in an antique patina that lets the geometric profile read as architecture rather than as ornament.
Drawn from the 1920s–30s American Beaux-Arts and Hollywood Regency lighting tradition, scaled for contemporary American interiors. Suited to primary-suite seating areas, library and study interiors, contemporary entry foyers, great-room reading corners, and luxury hotel suites in 5,000+ sq ft estates — for design-led clients drawn to the Art Deco and Hollywood Regency vocabulary in transitional and contemporary interiors.

Sand-cast and hand-finished solid brass body — square-section column with hand-aged antique patina.
Tailored Fabric Shade
Champagne fabric drum shade with sealed top and open bottom — directs warm downward wash across a seating area.
Stepped Square Base
Period-correct stepped Art Deco plinth — gives weight and visual gravity to the slim hourglass column above.

Installation
- Plug-in installation. No hardwiring required — plug into a standard wall outlet matching your selected plug type.
- Place on a stable level surface. Hardwood, tile, or low-pile carpet preferred; the stepped square base requires level flooring for the column to read true.
- Two-person handling recommended. Solid brass column at 59″ — lift from the base only, never from the shade or column waist.
- Cord routing. 59″ plug cord exits at the base — plan placement near a wall outlet or use a UL-listed extension cord matched to your region.
- Care: dust the brass with a soft dry cloth. Do not use ammonia, vinegar, or commercial brass polish (Brasso and similar) — these strip the hand-aged antique patina. For fingerprints, a microfiber cloth lightly dampened with distilled water.

FAQ
Where is this lamp meant to stand? +
It's a sculptural floor lamp at 59″ tall — best placed beside a primary-suite reading chair, in a library or study seating area, in a great-room reading corner, or as the anchor of an entry-foyer console arrangement. The drum shade directs light downward over a seating zone rather than as ambient room wash, so plan it as a reading-side lamp paired with separate ambient lighting.
Will my lamp match the photographs? +
The form, scale, and shade are made to consistent specification. The brass column carries hand-applied antique patina, so surface character and patina depth vary subtly between fixtures. The lamp you receive will sit within the same visual language as the photographs but will be visibly distinct under close inspection — the character of hand-aged antique brass.
What bulb should I use? +
1 × E26 / E27 medium-base bulb, supplied by you. We recommend E26 / E27 LED at 2700K warm white, ≤ 60W incandescent-equivalent. The fabric drum conceals bulb shape, so A19 standard, globe, or vintage filament-style LEDs all work — choose for color quality (CRI 90+) rather than appearance.
Is it dimmable? Lutron-compatible? +
Yes — pair a dimmable LED bulb with a TRIAC wall dimmer (Lutron Caséta, Diva, and standard forward-phase dimmers all work). Use the lamp on a switched outlet for wall-control dimming. The lamp itself has no built-in dimmer.
Which plug should I choose? +
Select US, UK, AU, or EU at checkout to match your installation region. The internal wiring is universal 110–240V, so the same lamp works in any market once the correct plug is fitted. Confirm plug type before ordering — wrong-plug shipments require return.
How do I clean the antique brass? Custom finishes & trade? +
Dust with a soft dry cloth; for fingerprints, a microfiber cloth lightly dampened with distilled water. Do not use ammonia-based cleaners, vinegar, or commercial brass polish (Brasso and similar) — these strip the hand-aged patina. Custom builds: alternative shade fabrics (cream linen, dark linen, parchment) and alternative finishes (polished brass, dark patinated bronze, French gilt) quotable on request. Hospitality-grade construction suits luxury hotel suites, members-club lounges, and Art Deco / Hollywood Regency residential projects. Contact our trade desk for project-quantity coordination.

Architectural footnotes for the contemporary interior — steel, brass, iron, and the honest marks of the hands that shaped them.

From Factory Floor
to Gallery Wall.
The workshops of the early twentieth century were the most honest classrooms industrial design ever had. We take our sense of order from the Bauhaus, our raw material from the foundries of Manchester, and apply contemporary proportion so the result belongs in rooms that reward close attention.
Every fixture we make refuses to hide its structure — visible rivets, exposed cable sheathing, hand-laid joinery. What once belonged on the factory floor now reads as architecture within the room.

The weight you feel in your hand is the most honest language of quality — we refuse plastic, refuse thin walls, refuse lightness for its own sake.— Radilum Material Principle N°01
Molten Form
Sand casting runs alongside lost-wax at 1,450°C, leaving each iron piece with the honest mark of its gate.
Hand Welded
TIG welds laid by hand, visible by design. Every welder signs the work with a numbered stamp — traceable back to the piece.

In open-plan rooms it reads less like décor and more like structure — a set of suspended architectural coordinates.
