Natural Alabaster Shade · Brass AND Black Body
A small wall sconce with a quiet glow. The Santorini's slim metal body cradles a hand-cut alabaster shade — when lit, the natural stone glows from within with its own one-of-a-kind veining. Compact at 34 cm tall, it works as a single accent or a matched pair along a hallway, beside a bed, or flanking a mirror.
Each piece is unique. Every alabaster shade is cut from natural stone, so veining patterns, color tone, and grain direction will differ from the photographs shown — that singularity is part of working with natural stone, not a defect.

Bulb not included. The Santorini uses an E12 or E14 candelabra-base bulb. We recommend a warm white (2700K) LED at 4–6W — warm light brings out the honey tones in the alabaster veining. Avoid cool-white or daylight bulbs, which read harsh through natural stone.
Installation
- Hardwired wall installation — a licensed electrician is recommended.
- Fits a standard single-gang wall box. All mounting hardware is included.
- Dimmable when paired with a dimmable LED bulb and a TRIAC-compatible wall dimmer (e.g. Lutron Skylark, Leviton Decora).
- Recommended placement: at eye level (≈ 150 cm / 60″ from floor) for corridors and entries; 75–90 cm above the bedside surface for bedroom use.

FAQ
Will the alabaster veining vary between units? +
Yes — every shade is hand-cut from natural alabaster, so veining patterns, color depth, and grain direction differ from piece to piece and from the product photographs. This is the signature of working with natural stone, not a defect. If you're ordering a pair (e.g. flanking a bed or mirror), order at the same time so the two shades are cut from the same batch for the closest match.
How do I clean the alabaster? +
Switch off the wall power and let the bulb cool. Dust the alabaster shade with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid water, glass cleaners, and any chemical solutions — alabaster is porous and can absorb moisture, leaving permanent staining. Dust the brass body with a soft dry cloth as well.
Which bulb do you recommend? +
A warm white (2700K) E12 or E14 candelabra LED at 4–6W. Warm light brings out the honey tones in the alabaster veining and creates the soft, romantic glow the Santorini is designed for. Avoid cool-white or daylight bulbs — they read harsh through natural stone and flatten the veining.
Is the lamp dimmable? +
Yes — paired with a dimmable LED bulb and a TRIAC-compatible wall dimmer (e.g. Lutron Skylark, Leviton Decora), the Santorini dims smoothly. Note: not all candelabra LEDs are dimmable — verify the bulb specifications before purchasing.
Will the brass body develop a patina? +
The Antique Brass finish is hand-finished with a pre-aged surface and remains stable under normal indoor conditions — it will not patina or tarnish dramatically over time. Light tonal variation across the brass is part of the hand-finishing process. The Matte Black finish is a sealed powder coat and stays uniform.
How big is this lamp and where does it work best? +
The Santorini is compact — only ∅ 13 cm × H 34 cm (∅ 5.1" × H 13.4"). It suits bedside walls, narrow hallways, powder rooms, entryways, and mirror flanking. For wider walls or as the only light source over a bed, consider pairing two side by side.
What's the difference between Brass and Black? +
Same body, same alabaster shade — only the metal color differs. Brass brings warm amber tones that complement cream walls, natural wood, and traditional palettes. Black is matte and architectural, providing strong contrast against light walls and pairing well with modern, industrial, or high-contrast interiors.

Sculpted by earth,
softened by light.
Rare natural alabaster, hand-carved by master artisans and illuminated from within. Every piece is unrepeatable — a singular convergence of geology and craft.
"Alabaster does not merely hold light — it breathes with it, casting a warmth that cannot be manufactured, only discovered."
Formed through millions of years of slow crystallisation, alabaster is among the world's most ancient decorative stones. When illuminated, it yields a quiet, golden luminosity — gentle, organic, irreducibly human. Our collection exists to honour that rarity, designing forms that allow the stone to speak without interruption.
No two stones
are ever alike.
Alabaster carries within it a geological autobiography — millions of years compressed into veining, crystalline structures, and tonal shifts that no craftsman could plan or replicate. Five expressive patterns emerge most consistently in our collection.

Pure
Clear SurfaceA near-uniform honey surface with barely perceptible variation — the rarest and most meditative expression of the stone.

Ink Marbling
Flowing VeinsSoft, fluid grey veining reminiscent of East Asian ink painting — atmospheric, unhurried, deeply contemplative.

Lightning Veins
Sharp BranchingBold, branching mineral lines that fracture the surface with dramatic precision — striking from any angle and in any light.

Ice Crack
Angular FracturesGeometric fissures suspended within the stone — sculptural formations that diffuse and scatter light with quiet drama.

Snowflake
Crystalline FlecksSuspended constellations of lighter crystalline matter — a delicate drift across the surface that catches light from within.
Natural Variance Is Not a Defect
Because alabaster is a living natural stone, every piece carries its own unique veining and tonal variation — a quality we celebrate rather than suppress. We are unable to specify, select, or replicate any particular pattern. Ink marbling, lightning veins, ice-crack formations, and snowflake inclusions are inherent characteristics of the material and do not constitute a quality issue. If you prefer a perfectly uniform finish, this collection may not align with your expectations — and we kindly invite you to consider this before placing your order.
One material,
every room in the home.
From the grandeur of a double-height chandelier to the intimate glow of a bedside lamp — alabaster scales with intention, adapting to every room's rhythm without sacrificing presence.
Five stages of
quiet craftsmanship.
Every alabaster lamp begins as raw stone and arrives in your hands only after passing through a sequence of precise, unhurried steps — performed by artisans who know how to listen to the material before they shape it.

Material Selection
Rough blocks are hand-assessed at the quarry for translucence, structural integrity, and depth of colour within.

Precision Cutting
Diamond instruments slice the stone into workable panels, guided by its natural grain rather than against it.

Sculpting
Artisans turn, carve, and hollow each form by hand — responding to the stone's character as it is revealed.

Hand Polishing
Progressively finer grits refine the surface until the stone's interior luminosity is fully realised.

Final Assembly
LED modules, solid brass fittings, and hand-finished hardware are fitted and inspected — each piece individually, never in batches.
To own an alabaster lamp is to welcome a piece of natural sculpture into your home — shaped by the earth over millennia, refined by artisans over weeks, and completed only in the moment it is illuminated.
Radilum Design Studio

Treat it as the
rare object it is.
Alabaster is genuine natural stone — each fixture carries substantial weight and deserves the same careful handling you would extend to any fine sculpture. A few simple practices will preserve both piece and electrical integrity for a lifetime.
- 01Never lift by the power cord. The cord is not load-bearing. Tension applied to it can damage internal LED wiring and lead to connection failure over time.
- 02Always support the stone body.Cradle the fixture with both hands when moving or installing. For larger pieces, two people are strongly recommended.
- 03Clean gently; dust often.A dry, soft cloth is all that is needed. Avoid water, solvents, and abrasives — they will dull the polished surface irreversibly.

Measuring for Pendant Lighting
When installing pendants and chandeliers, it’s important to consider how you want your fixtures to hang in relation to the other furnishings in your space. Read on for our recommendations on how to hang the perfect light.
Kitchen
Aim for 30–36″ from the bottom of your fixture’s shade to the top of your island or countertop. Space multiple pendants 26–30″ apart. For a sense of proportion and balance, allow 12″ from the outermost fixture to the edge of your counter.
Dining Room
For optimal lighting and visibility, the bottom of your pendant should sit 30″ from the surface of your dining table. To scale your fixture, take the length and width of the room in feet, then convert that to inches. For a 10′ by 14′ room, the chandelier should be about 24″ wide.
Bedroom
If you’re hanging a pendant above a nightstand, allow for at least 30″ between the bottom of the shade and your nightstand’s surface. To keep the look balanced, center your pendant over your nightstand.
