Jeder Schirm wird aus handgefertigtem Maulbeerbaum-Washi-Papier gefertigt — dieselbe Papiermachertradition, die in Japan seit über tausend Jahren praktiziert wird. Washi aus Maulbeerbaum-Kozo-Fasern erzeugt ein Blatt mit außergewöhnlicher Festigkeit und Transparenz: Die langen Bastfasern schaffen eine Oberfläche mit sichtbarer, unregelmäßiger Textur, die das Licht in einen weichen, warmen und völlig blendungsfreien Glanz diffundiert. Keine zwei Schirme sind identisch — das Papier trägt die Handschrift desjenigen, der es gefertigt hat.

Für Washi-Papierschirme wird ein LED-Leuchtmittel mit 6–10W bei 2700K Warmweiß und matter oder Opaldiffusor empfohlen — die sanfte Lichtemission verteilt sich gleichmäßig durch das durchscheinende Papier, ohne einen sichtbaren Hotspot zu erzeugen. Vermeiden Sie klare Glas- oder Glühfadenleuchtmittel über 4W — der Glühfaden kann als heller Punkt durch dünnes Washi-Papier sichtbar werden.

Was ist Maulbeerpapier Washi? +
Washi ist handgefertigtes japanisches Papier aus den Bastfasern der Kozo-Pflanze (Maulbeerbaum). Die langen, verflochtenen Fasern erzeugen ein Blatt, das gleichzeitig stärker und transparenter als Holzschliffpapier ist – es streut das Licht durch seine Oberfläche, anstatt es zu blockieren, und erzeugt so ein weiches, warmes Leuchten mit sichtbarer Faserstruktur. Da jedes Blatt von Hand gefertigt wird, variieren die Dicke, Faserverteilung und Oberflächenmuster leicht zwischen den Farbtönen. Dies ist ein Merkmal des Handwerks und kein Mangel.
Wie hänge ich eine Pendelleuchte mit Stecker auf? +
Die gebräuchlichste Methode ist ein Deckenhaken – ein kleiner selbstklebender oder einschraubbarer Haken, der an der Decke an der gewünschten Aufhängungsstelle angebracht wird. Legen Sie das schwarze Kabel über den Haken, passen Sie die Länge des Abhangs an, und stecken Sie es in eine nahegelegene Steckdose. Der Inline-Schalter am Kabel steuert die Leuchte unabhängig. Es ist keine Verkabelung erforderlich und bei Verwendung eines selbstklebenden Hakens werden keine Löcher in die Decke gemacht. Für schwere oder hohe Konfigurationen wird ein belastungsgeprüfter Schraubhaken empfohlen.

Wie pflege ich einen Washi-Papierschirm? +
Washi-Papier ist langlebig, sollte aber trocken gehalten werden. Vermeiden Sie die Installation in feuchten Bereichen oder in der Nähe direkter Feuchtigkeitsquellen. Stauben Sie sanft mit einer trockenen, weichen Bürste oder mit geringer Saugleistung ab – wischen Sie nicht mit einem feuchten Tuch. Kleine Dellen oder Falten können manchmal durch leichtes Anfeuchten mit Dampf aus der Ferne gelindert werden, gefolgt von natürlichem Trocknen. Vermeiden Sie direkten Kontakt, da Fingeröle im Laufe der Zeit Flecken hinterlassen können.

Q1. Does it really need no wiring or electrician?
Correct — no junction box, no breaker, no electrician. Wall sconces mount with a simple included bracket; pendants hang from a discreet ceiling hook and swag across to your outlet. A paper template and all the hardware are in the box, and most installs take about five minutes.
Q2. What outlet, voltage and cord does it use?
Each light ships with the right plug for your region — US (Type A, 120V), EU (Type C, 230V) or UK (Type G, 230V) — on a standard cord of roughly 2–3 m, with longer lengths on request. Run the cord discreetly along trim with the included clips, or let a fabric or braided cord hang as part of the look. Need a specific plug or length? Tell us at checkout.
Q3. What bulb does it use, and is it dimmable?
Bulbs vary by fixture, so check the one listed on each product page. Most take a standard screw socket — E26 in North America, E27 elsewhere — while a few use other fittings. Whatever the bulb, every light is built for a warm 3000K glow and is dimmable with a compatible dimmable bulb plus an inline dimmer or smart plug.

Measuring for Pendant Lighting
When installing pendants and chandeliers, it’s important to consider how you want your fixtures to hang in relation to the other furnishings in your space. Read on for our recommendations on how to hang the perfect light.
Kitchen
Aim for 30–36″ from the bottom of your fixture’s shade to the top of your island or countertop. Space multiple pendants 26–30″ apart. For a sense of proportion and balance, allow 12″ from the outermost fixture to the edge of your counter.
Dining Room
For optimal lighting and visibility, the bottom of your pendant should sit 30″ from the surface of your dining table. To scale your fixture, take the length and width of the room in feet, then convert that to inches. For a 10′ by 14′ room, the chandelier should be about 24″ wide.
Bedroom
If you’re hanging a pendant above a nightstand, allow for at least 30″ between the bottom of the shade and your nightstand’s surface. To keep the look balanced, center your pendant over your nightstand.
