Studio Original · Antique Brass & Spanish Alabaster · Ring Chandelier

A studio original from Radilum — a five-light ring chandelier composed around a slender antique-brass armature, with five hand-cut ribbed alabaster cylinders suspended at regular intervals around the lower ring. The brass arms rise in a tapering arch from the canopy down to the ring, and the alabaster cylinders hang below the ring on small brass posts, glowing softly when lit. The composition is geometric, balanced, and disciplined — a chandelier that reads as architecture rather than ornament.

Each ribbed alabaster cylinder is hand-cut from natural Aragón stone, with the horizontal banding pattern accentuating the cloud-like veining as light passes through. The fixture is designed and made in our studio — not adapted from a third-party reference — and is built to specification-grade standards for residential and hospitality projects. Suited to dining rooms, kitchen islands, foyers, primary bedrooms, and luxury hotel suites in transitional, contemporary, modern minimalist, and warm-classical interiors.

Radilum Studio Original

Designed and made in our studio — not adapted from a third-party reference. A signature piece in our collection.

Ribbed Alabaster Cylinders

Five hand-cut Aragón alabaster cylinders with horizontal ribbing — the banding accentuates natural cloud veining.

Antique Brass Ring Frame

Slim arched arms rise from canopy to ring; brass is hand-finished in warm antique tone with deeper recesses.

Hand-cut natural Spanish alabaster. Each ribbed cylinder is cut and polished by hand from a single block of Aragón alabaster — natural cloud veining, color depth, and translucency vary piece to piece. Within a single chandelier, the five cylinders are matched in tone for visual cohesion across the ring. The piece you receive will not look identical to the photographs. This is the character of natural stone, not a flaw. Default integrated LED is warm white (3000K), non-dimmable. TRIAC-dimmable and 0–10V dimmable versions, as well as other color temperatures (4000K neutral, 5000K daylight), are available on request — please contact us before ordering. Custom builds may affect lead time. Production lead time is approximately 35 days.

  • Hardwires to a standard ceiling junction box — professional installation recommended.
  • Hanging chain supplied at 50 cm (19.7″); chain length can be adjusted on-site by your electrician for higher ceilings.
  • For dining tables, hang the bottom of the alabaster cylinders 30–36″ above the tabletop.
  • For kitchen islands, hang the bottom 30–36″ above the counter; for foyers and primary bedrooms, 7 ft minimum from finished floor.
  • No bulbs to install — integrated LED is built in and pre-wired through each alabaster cylinder.
  • Verify ceiling clearance: minimum 9 ft (2.7 m), ideally 10–12 ft for proper proportion in foyers and great rooms.
  • Indoor only · clean alabaster cylinders with a soft dry cloth or barely damp cloth; clean brass with a soft dry cloth — avoid acidic household cleaners which can etch porous natural stone.

What size space is the Payson designed for? +

At ∅ 39.4″ × H 35.4″ (100 × 90 cm) with 5 lights, the Payson is well-scaled for dining rooms of 16–25 m² seating 6–10, kitchen islands of 6–8 ft, primary bedrooms of 18–28 m², and foyers up to 22 m². Minimum 9 ft (2.7 m) ceilings; ideally 10–12 ft for the chandelier to hang at proper height above a dining table or island without crowding the room.

Is this a Radilum original design? +

Yes — the Payson is a studio original, designed and made in our workshop rather than adapted from a third-party reference. Studio originals are pieces we develop ourselves to fill a specific design need we identified — in this case, a transitional ring chandelier that pairs the architectural discipline of an antique-brass armature with the warmth of natural alabaster. We're proud of this fixture and offer it with our standard customization options for residential and hospitality projects.

Will my alabaster look exactly like the photo? +

No. Each ribbed cylinder is hand-cut from a fresh block of Aragón alabaster, so cloud veining patterns, color depth, and translucency vary piece to piece. Within a single Payson, the five cylinders are matched in tone for visual cohesion across the ring. Between separate orders, some natural variation between fixtures is expected. The photograph shows representative character; your fixture will be unique.

Why is the production lead time 35 days? +

Each fixture is made to order. The 35-day production window covers cutting and polishing the five ribbed alabaster cylinders from fresh blocks of Aragón stone, casting and hand-finishing the antique brass armature and ring, integrating the LED system, full assembly, quality check, and protective packing. Custom finish options or non-default dimming protocols may extend this timeline — please contact us before ordering if your project has a specific deadline.

Is the Payson dimmable? +

The default integrated LED is non-dimmable warm white (3000K). TRIAC-dimmable and 0–10V-dimmable versions are available as custom builds — please contact us before ordering and specify your preferred dimming protocol so we ship the right variant. For an explanation of the difference between TRIAC and 0–10V dimming and which one suits your installation, see our technical guide on dimming protocols. Custom builds may extend the 35-day lead time.

Why are the cylinders ribbed? +

The horizontal ribbing serves both aesthetic and functional purposes. Aesthetically, the banding catches light unevenly across the cylinder face — the rings glow brighter and the recesses sit slightly darker, which accentuates the cloud-like veining of the alabaster and gives the cylinders a more sculptural read than smooth surfaces. Functionally, the rib pattern adds structural integrity to the alabaster wall and slightly increases surface area for heat dissipation from the integrated LED.

Is it suitable for hospitality and commercial projects? +

Yes — this is a hospitality-grade fixture. The integrated LED, 3000K default, and customizable dimming protocols make it well-suited to luxury hotel suites, restaurant private dining rooms, and high-end boutique commercial spaces. For project-quantity orders we coordinate matched veining tone within batches, dimming protocol, finish specification, and lead times directly. Please contact us with your project specification at the earliest stage.

Chapter I · Natural Stone

Sculpted by earth,
softened by light.

Rare natural alabaster, hand-carved by master artisans and illuminated from within. Every piece is unrepeatable — a singular convergence of geology and craft.

One-of-a-KindUnique Veining
A Story in Stone

"Alabaster does not merely hold light — it breathes with it, casting a warmth that cannot be manufactured, only discovered."

Formed through millions of years of slow crystallisation, alabaster is among the world's most ancient decorative stones. When illuminated, it yields a quiet, golden luminosity — gentle, organic, irreducibly human. Our collection exists to honour that rarity, designing forms that allow the stone to speak without interruption.

Natural Character

No two stones
are ever alike.

Alabaster carries within it a geological autobiography — millions of years compressed into veining, crystalline structures, and tonal shifts that no craftsman could plan or replicate. Five expressive patterns emerge most consistently in our collection.

Pure

Pure

Clear Surface

A near-uniform honey surface with barely perceptible variation — the rarest and most meditative expression of the stone.

Ink Marbling

Ink Marbling

Flowing Veins

Soft, fluid grey veining reminiscent of East Asian ink painting — atmospheric, unhurried, deeply contemplative.

Lightning Veins

Lightning Veins

Sharp Branching

Bold, branching mineral lines that fracture the surface with dramatic precision — striking from any angle and in any light.

Ice Crack

Ice Crack

Angular Fractures

Geometric fissures suspended within the stone — sculptural formations that diffuse and scatter light with quiet drama.

Snowflake

Snowflake

Crystalline Flecks

Suspended constellations of lighter crystalline matter — a delicate drift across the surface that catches light from within.

!

Natural Variance Is Not a Defect

Because alabaster is a living natural stone, every piece carries its own unique veining and tonal variation — a quality we celebrate rather than suppress. We are unable to specify, select, or replicate any particular pattern. Ink marbling, lightning veins, ice-crack formations, and snowflake inclusions are inherent characteristics of the material and do not constitute a quality issue. If you prefer a perfectly uniform finish, this collection may not align with your expectations — and we kindly invite you to consider this before placing your order.

For Every Space

One material,
every room in the home.

From the grandeur of a double-height chandelier to the intimate glow of a bedside lamp — alabaster scales with intention, adapting to every room's rhythm without sacrificing presence.

From Quarry to Creation

Five stages of
quiet craftsmanship.

Every alabaster lamp begins as raw stone and arrives in your hands only after passing through a sequence of precise, unhurried steps — performed by artisans who know how to listen to the material before they shape it.

Selection
Selection

Material Selection

Rough blocks are hand-assessed at the quarry for translucence, structural integrity, and depth of colour within.

Cutting
Cutting

Precision Cutting

Diamond instruments slice the stone into workable panels, guided by its natural grain rather than against it.

Shaping
Shaping

Sculpting

Artisans turn, carve, and hollow each form by hand — responding to the stone's character as it is revealed.

Polishing
Polishing

Hand Polishing

Progressively finer grits refine the surface until the stone's interior luminosity is fully realised.

Assembly
Assembly

Final Assembly

LED modules, solid brass fittings, and hand-finished hardware are fitted and inspected — each piece individually, never in batches.

To own an alabaster lamp is to welcome a piece of natural sculpture into your home — shaped by the earth over millennia, refined by artisans over weeks, and completed only in the moment it is illuminated.

Important · Handling & Installation

Treat it as the
rare object it is.

Alabaster is genuine natural stone — each fixture carries substantial weight and deserves the same careful handling you would extend to any fine sculpture. A few simple practices will preserve both piece and electrical integrity for a lifetime.

  • 01
Never lift by the power cord. The cord is not load-bearing. Tension applied to it can damage internal LED wiring and lead to connection failure over time.
  • 02
Always support the stone body.Cradle the fixture with both hands when moving or installing. For larger pieces, two people are strongly recommended.
  • 03
Clean gently; dust often.A dry, soft cloth is all that is needed. Avoid water, solvents, and abrasives — they will dull the polished surface irreversibly.

Measuring for Pendant Lighting

When installing pendants and chandeliers, it’s important to consider how you want your fixtures to hang in relation to the other furnishings in your space. Read on for our recommendations on how to hang the perfect light.

Kitchen

Aim for 30–36″ from the bottom of your fixture’s shade to the top of your island or countertop. Space multiple pendants 26–30″ apart. For a sense of proportion and balance, allow 12″ from the outermost fixture to the edge of your counter.

Dining Room

For optimal lighting and visibility, the bottom of your pendant should sit 30″ from the surface of your dining table. To scale your fixture, take the length and width of the room in feet, then convert that to inches. For a 10′ by 14′ room, the chandelier should be about 24″ wide.

Bedroom

If you’re hanging a pendant above a nightstand, allow for at least 30″ between the bottom of the shade and your nightstand’s surface. To keep the look balanced, center your pendant over your nightstand.
