Wall Lamp · Die-Cast Aluminum · Aluminum / Gold / Black · GU5.3 · Marine-Inspired
This fixture is not compatible with standard US junction boxes (J-Box). It requires direct hardwiring by a licensed electrician using a dedicated wall mounting system. If you are in the US, consult a licensed electrician to confirm your wall installation method before purchasing this lamp.
The Mast Wall Lamp is die-cast aluminum throughout — the body formed by forcing molten aluminum alloy into a precision mould under high pressure, producing a component that is denser, dimensionally tighter, and more heat-stable than sand-cast or stamped aluminum. The compact form — 8 cm deep and 14 cm tall — sits close to the wall and directs its GU5.3 light source with a focused, functional intention. The marine-inspired design lineage is present in the material choice and the restrained silhouette: raw, purposeful, without decorative excess.
Three finishes — natural aluminum, gold, and black — shift the fixture between the industrial and the refined, all on the same die-cast form. At 8 × 14 cm, the Mast is a compact accent sconce — suited to corridors, bedroom walls, stairwells, and any position where a precise, low-profile point of wall light is needed rather than a broad ambient source.
Finish — Choose at Checkout
Aluminum
Natural die-cast aluminum — the raw material finish, cool and industrial. Suits minimalist, Bauhaus, and contemporary-industrial interiors.
Gold
Gold-toned aluminum — warmer, more refined. The marine form in a warm metallic reads as nautical-luxe. Suits eclectic, warm-neutral, and Art Deco interiors.
Black
Matte black aluminum — the most graphic and architectural. The compact form reads as a dark geometric accent. Suits contemporary, Scandi, and dark-palette interiors.
Dimensions
GU5.3 socket — requires a 12V transformer. The GU5.3 (MR16) socket operates at 12V DC, not mains voltage. A compatible 12V LED driver or transformer must be installed in the circuit by your electrician — it is not supplied with the lamp. When specifying the installation to your electrician, confirm they will provide an appropriate 12V constant-voltage LED driver rated for the bulb wattage.
Bulbs: Use a GU5.3 MR16 12V LED capsule at 2700–3000K warm white, 5–8W. A narrow beam angle (24–36°) is recommended for focused wall accent or task light; a wider beam (60°) for softer ambient coverage from a small source.

FAQ
Why is it not compatible with a US junction box? +
Standard US junction boxes (J-Box) are recessed into the wall or ceiling and have a standardised mounting system that US-market fixtures are designed to attach to. European and international fixtures like the Mast use different mounting hardware that does not interface with J-Box brackets. Your electrician will need to install a surface-mount or direct-wall attachment system appropriate to the lamp's backplate — this is a routine task for a licensed electrician familiar with international fixture installation. Contact us before ordering if you want to confirm compatibility with your specific wall construction.
Which finish suits my interior? +
Aluminum is the most industrial and raw — the natural die-cast surface reads as functional and material-honest. Best for minimalist, Bauhaus, and contemporary-industrial interiors where the lamp's purpose is visible and undecorated. Gold shifts the marine form toward the refined — a warm metallic on a compact, utilitarian shape reads as nautical-luxe and suits eclectic, warm-toned, and Art Deco interiors. Black is the most graphic — the compact form reads as a dark geometric accent against the wall, suiting contemporary, Scandi, and dark-palette interiors.
What is a GU5.3 socket and what bulb do I need? +
GU5.3 is the bi-pin base standard for MR16 reflector capsule bulbs — a compact low-voltage bulb widely used in recessed and track lighting. The Mast uses the GU5.3 at 12V DC, which means a 12V LED driver must be installed in the circuit (your electrician handles this). When purchasing bulbs, look for GU5.3 MR16 12V LED — not 240V mains GU5.3, which is a different product. Recommended: 5–8W at 2700–3000K warm white. Beam angle 24° for a focused wall accent; 36–60° for softer ambient coverage.
Is it dimmable? +
Yes, when the 12V LED driver installed by your electrician is a dimmable constant-voltage LED driver and the GU5.3 LED bulb is rated as dimmable — specify both conditions when briefing your electrician and when purchasing bulbs. The dimming is controlled at the driver level by a compatible wall dimmer or smart control (depending on the driver type). Confirm the full dimming specification with your electrician before installation.

Architectural footnotes for the contemporary interior — steel, brass, iron, and the honest marks of the hands that shaped them.

From Factory Floor
to Gallery Wall.
The workshops of the early twentieth century were the most honest classrooms industrial design ever had. We take our sense of order from the Bauhaus, our raw material from the foundries of Manchester, and apply contemporary proportion so the result belongs in rooms that reward close attention.
Every fixture we make refuses to hide its structure — visible rivets, exposed cable sheathing, hand-laid joinery. What once belonged on the factory floor now reads as architecture within the room.

Molten Form
Sand casting runs alongside lost-wax at 1,450°C, leaving each iron piece with the honest mark of its gate.
Hand Welded
TIG welds laid by hand, visible by design. Every welder signs the work with a numbered stamp — traceable back to the piece.

Measuring for Pendant Lighting
When installing pendants and chandeliers, it’s important to consider how you want your fixtures to hang in relation to the other furnishings in your space. Read on for our recommendations on how to hang the perfect light.
Kitchen
Aim for 30–36″ from the bottom of your fixture’s shade to the top of your island or countertop. Space multiple pendants 26–30″ apart. For a sense of proportion and balance, allow 12″ from the outermost fixture to the edge of your counter.
Dining Room
For optimal lighting and visibility, the bottom of your pendant should sit 30″ from the surface of your dining table. To scale your fixture, take the length and width of the room in feet, then convert that to inches. For a 10′ by 14′ room, the chandelier should be about 24″ wide.
Bedroom
If you’re hanging a pendant above a nightstand, allow for at least 30″ between the bottom of the shade and your nightstand’s surface. To keep the look balanced, center your pendant over your nightstand.
