Spanish Alabaster · Hand-Cut Soft-Square Form · Brass Cap · Compact Pendant
A small pendant light composed of a hand-cut Spanish alabaster shade in a soft-square cylindrical form, suspended from a turned brass cap and cord. The rounded-corner geometry feels architectural rather than fully cylindrical — more presence than a simple drum, less weight than a full cube.
When lit, the alabaster glows from within and reveals each shade's natural veining and warm mineral coloration. Suited to kitchen islands, breakfast bars, dining tables, bedside accents, double-height stairwells, and grand foyers — particularly powerful in clusters scaled to long counters or vaulted ceilings.
Features
Genuine Spanish Alabaster
Hand-cut from Aragón-sourced stone — the historically prized origin for translucent natural lighting.
Soft-Square Geometry
Rounded-corner cylinder reads more architectural than a plain drum — quiet but distinctive.
Multi-Head & Custom Sizing
Single-pendant standard · Multi-head clusters and custom sizes available — scale to your space.
Hardware Finish — Choose at Checkout
Brass
Warm polished brass cap and canopy — pairs naturally with the cream tones of the alabaster. Suits traditional, transitional, and warm-modern interiors.
White
Powder-coated white cap and canopy — recedes against light ceilings, lets the alabaster shade take complete visual lead. Minimal and contemporary.
Each piece is unique. Because the shade is hand-cut from natural Spanish alabaster, the pattern of veining, color intensity, and grain direction varies between pendants. That singularity is the point of the material — your piece will share the same overall character as the photographs but the specific markings will be one-of-a-kind.
Multi-head and custom sizes available. The standard listing shows the single-pendant version. Multi-head cluster configurations and custom shade sizes can be built to scale — particularly suited to long kitchen islands, double-height stairwells, dining halls, and grand foyers. Contact our support team with your space dimensions and we'll quote a custom build.

FAQ
Where does the alabaster come from? +
All Radilum alabaster is sourced from Spain — specifically the Aragón region, which has supplied the world's most prized translucent alabaster since the 16th century. Each shade is hand-cut from a solid block.
Will my piece look exactly like the photo? +
No — every shade is hand-cut from natural stone, so the pattern of veining, color intensity, and grain direction varies between pieces. Yours will share the same overall character as the photographs but the specific markings will be one-of-a-kind.
What bulb does it take? +
One E26 (North America) or E27 (EU/UK/AU) standard-base bulb up to 25W. We recommend a warm white (3000K) LED for the most flattering glow through the alabaster — higher wattages can over-illuminate and flatten the veining.
Can I order a multi-head cluster or custom size? +
Yes — beyond the single-pendant standard listing, we build multi-head cluster configurations (3, 5, 7+ pendants on a shared canopy) and custom shade sizes on request. These are particularly suited to long kitchen islands, banquette dining tables, grand foyers, and double-height stairwells. Contact our support team with your ceiling height, the area you want to light, and any reference images — we'll quote a custom build to match your space.
Can I cluster multiple single pendants? +
Yes — at this compact 17 cm size, the pendant works beautifully when ordered as multiples and hung in a grouped arrangement. Each unit ships with its own canopy and 78.7" cord, so you can space them as you wish. For coordinated looks, contact us before ordering and we'll select stones with similar character. Or order a true shared-canopy cluster (see above).
Will it work above a stairwell or in a tall foyer? +
Yes — for double-height stairwells, vaulted foyers, or rooms with 12 ft+ ceilings, we recommend either a custom-sized larger shade or a multi-head cluster build (the standard 17 cm shade may read small on its own at that scale). Contact us with photos and ceiling height for a tailored recommendation — alabaster pendants are one of our most-customized product categories for grand-scale residential and hospitality installations.
Can the cord length be adjusted? +
Yes — the standard 78.7" (200 cm) cord can be shortened during installation. For longer drops — vaulted ceilings, double-height stairwells — contact us before ordering for a custom cord length.
Can I install it in a bathroom? +
Yes — well-suited to bathroom ceilings, particularly above a vanity. Because alabaster is naturally porous, install away from direct shower spray or steam concentration. Standard ventilation and normal bathroom humidity are not a concern.

Sculpted by earth,
softened by light.
Rare natural alabaster, hand-carved by master artisans and illuminated from within. Every piece is unrepeatable — a singular convergence of geology and craft.
"Alabaster does not merely hold light — it breathes with it, casting a warmth that cannot be manufactured, only discovered."
Formed through millions of years of slow crystallisation, alabaster is among the world's most ancient decorative stones. When illuminated, it yields a quiet, golden luminosity — gentle, organic, irreducibly human. Our collection exists to honour that rarity, designing forms that allow the stone to speak without interruption.
No two stones
are ever alike.
Alabaster carries within it a geological autobiography — millions of years compressed into veining, crystalline structures, and tonal shifts that no craftsman could plan or replicate. Five expressive patterns emerge most consistently in our collection.

Pure
Clear SurfaceA near-uniform honey surface with barely perceptible variation — the rarest and most meditative expression of the stone.

Ink Marbling
Flowing VeinsSoft, fluid grey veining reminiscent of East Asian ink painting — atmospheric, unhurried, deeply contemplative.

Lightning Veins
Sharp BranchingBold, branching mineral lines that fracture the surface with dramatic precision — striking from any angle and in any light.

Ice Crack
Angular FracturesGeometric fissures suspended within the stone — sculptural formations that diffuse and scatter light with quiet drama.

Snowflake
Crystalline FlecksSuspended constellations of lighter crystalline matter — a delicate drift across the surface that catches light from within.
Natural Variance Is Not a Defect
Because alabaster is a living natural stone, every piece carries its own unique veining and tonal variation — a quality we celebrate rather than suppress. We are unable to specify, select, or replicate any particular pattern. Ink marbling, lightning veins, ice-crack formations, and snowflake inclusions are inherent characteristics of the material and do not constitute a quality issue. If you prefer a perfectly uniform finish, this collection may not align with your expectations — and we kindly invite you to consider this before placing your order.
One material,
every room in the home.
From the grandeur of a double-height chandelier to the intimate glow of a bedside lamp — alabaster scales with intention, adapting to every room's rhythm without sacrificing presence.
Five stages of
quiet craftsmanship.
Every alabaster lamp begins as raw stone and arrives in your hands only after passing through a sequence of precise, unhurried steps — performed by artisans who know how to listen to the material before they shape it.

Material Selection
Rough blocks are hand-assessed at the quarry for translucence, structural integrity, and depth of colour within.

Precision Cutting
Diamond instruments slice the stone into workable panels, guided by its natural grain rather than against it.

Sculpting
Artisans turn, carve, and hollow each form by hand — responding to the stone's character as it is revealed.

Hand Polishing
Progressively finer grits refine the surface until the stone's interior luminosity is fully realised.

Final Assembly
LED modules, solid brass fittings, and hand-finished hardware are fitted and inspected — each piece individually, never in batches.
To own an alabaster lamp is to welcome a piece of natural sculpture into your home — shaped by the earth over millennia, refined by artisans over weeks, and completed only in the moment it is illuminated.
Radilum Design Studio

Treat it as the
rare object it is.
Alabaster is genuine natural stone — each fixture carries substantial weight and deserves the same careful handling you would extend to any fine sculpture. A few simple practices will preserve both piece and electrical integrity for a lifetime.
- 01Never lift by the power cord. The cord is not load-bearing. Tension applied to it can damage internal LED wiring and lead to connection failure over time.
- 02Always support the stone body.Cradle the fixture with both hands when moving or installing. For larger pieces, two people are strongly recommended.
- 03Clean gently; dust often.A dry, soft cloth is all that is needed. Avoid water, solvents, and abrasives — they will dull the polished surface irreversibly.
See it in motion.
