Die-Cast Aluminum · Caged Glass · Industrial Bulkhead
An industrial pendant in the language of mid-20th-century maritime and factory lighting — a die-cast aluminum bulkhead head with cast junction-box detailing, a wide overhanging brim, and a protective wire cage guarding a clear glass dome below. The proportion is honest and utilitarian, scaled down from the original ship-deck and warehouse fixtures it draws from.
Light passes through clear glass and breaks across the cage bars, throwing a soft striped pattern on walls and counters. Available in six silhouettes (Model A through F) in two finishes — Silver brushed aluminum and Matte Black. Suited to kitchen islands, breakfast nooks, mudrooms, and commercial bars or cafés where industrial character is wanted.

FAQ
How do I choose between Model A through F? +
Models A and B have wider brims and shorter, fuller domes — better for larger kitchen islands and counter areas. Models C and D are narrow and elongated — best for tighter spots, mudroom alcoves, or hung in clusters. Models E and F are larger statement scales — Model E (∅ 15.7″) is the widest, suited to commercial bars or oversized residential islands.
Is the Bulkhead pendant dimmable? +
Yes, with the right bulb. The fixture takes a single E26 (US) or E27 (EU) screw-base bulb. Install a dimmable LED bulb on a TRIAC wall dimmer and the pendant dims smoothly. Vintage-style Edison filament LEDs work especially well with the industrial look.
Can I use it outdoors or under a covered porch? +
The Bulkhead is rated for indoor use only. While it draws on maritime bulkhead heritage, this version is built for residential and commercial interiors — not for direct outdoor exposure or wet zones. For covered-porch or damp-rated installations, please contact us.
How many should I hang above a kitchen island? +
For islands under 5 ft, a single Model B or F works well. For 5–7 ft islands, two pendants spaced 24–30″ apart. For 7 ft+ islands, three pendants in Model A, C, or D scale. Hang the bottom of the dome 30–36″ above the counter.
What bulb works best with the cage and clear glass? +
Vintage-style Edison LED filament bulbs (ST64, A19, or G80 shape) flatter the industrial cage silhouette — the visible filament reads as part of the design. For a brighter, cleaner look, use a frosted A19 LED in warm white 2700K–3000K.

Architectural footnotes for the contemporary interior — steel, brass, iron, and the honest marks of the hands that shaped them.

From Factory Floor
to Gallery Wall.
The workshops of the early twentieth century were the most honest classrooms industrial design ever had. We take our sense of order from the Bauhaus, our raw material from the foundries of Manchester, and apply contemporary proportion so the result belongs in rooms that reward close attention.
Every fixture we make refuses to hide its structure — visible rivets, exposed cable sheathing, hand-laid joinery. What once belonged on the factory floor now reads as architecture within the room.

Waxed Finish
The weight you feel in your hand is the most honest language of quality — we refuse plastic, refuse thin walls, refuse lightness for its own sake.— Radilum Material Principle N°01
Molten Form
Sand casting runs alongside lost-wax at 1,450°C, leaving each iron piece with the honest mark of its gate.
Hand Welded
TIG welds laid by hand, visible by design. Every welder signs the work with a numbered stamp — traceable back to the piece.
Slow Finish
Hand-polished, aged and waxed across nine stages. We do not chase mirrors — we chase the right matte.

Measuring for Pendant Lighting
When installing pendants and chandeliers, it’s important to consider how you want your fixtures to hang in relation to the other furnishings in your space. Read on for our recommendations on how to hang the perfect light.
Kitchen
Aim for 30–36″ from the bottom of your fixture’s shade to the top of your island or countertop. Space multiple pendants 26–30″ apart. For a sense of proportion and balance, allow 12″ from the outermost fixture to the edge of your counter.
Dining Room
For optimal lighting and visibility, the bottom of your pendant should sit 30″ from the surface of your dining table. To scale your fixture, take the length and width of the room in feet, then convert that to inches. For a 10′ by 14′ room, the chandelier should be about 24″ wide.
Bedroom
If you’re hanging a pendant above a nightstand, allow for at least 30″ between the bottom of the shade and your nightstand’s surface. To keep the look balanced, center your pendant over your nightstand.
