Double Alabaster Wall Sconce · Antique Brass Body · White or Brown Stone · Integrated LED
Where the single Payson places one alabaster shade on the wall, the Double suspends two shades from the same antique brass body — stacked or offset along the vertical axis to create a more architecturally substantial presence. Each shade diffuses the integrated LED through natural alabaster's own veining, producing two overlapping pools of warm, mineral-filtered light. The effect is more dimensional than a single sconce: two sources of glow, two distinct shadow gradients on the wall surface behind.
The Double suits wider walls, larger rooms, and installations where a single shade would feel undersized — a hotel corridor, a primary bedroom feature wall, or either side of a generous headboard. Two stone options — White and Brown alabaster — adjust the warmth and tonal character of the glow.

Alabaster Stone — Choose at Checkout
The antique brass body is fixed. Choose your alabaster shade color below.
White Alabaster
Pale cream-to-ivory stone with soft grey veining. The lightest, most luminous glow — both shades appear almost backlit from within. Suits neutral and light-toned interiors.
Brown Alabaster
Warm amber-to-tobacco stone with pronounced caramel veining. A deeper, more golden glow across both shades — rich and enveloping. Suits warm wood, terracotta, and dark-toned interiors.
Each stone is unique. Natural alabaster carries veining, color variation, and translucency that differ from piece to piece. The shades you receive will not be identical to photographs — and the two shades on a single fixture may also differ subtly from each other. This is intrinsic to natural stone, not a defect.

FAQ
White or Brown alabaster — which should I choose? +
White alabaster produces the lightest, most luminous glow — the pale stone transmits more light and the dual shades together create a bright, clean accent. Best for rooms with neutral or light walls where you want the lamp to read as a refined, quiet feature. Brown alabaster produces a deeper, more golden glow across both shades — the amber tone warms the light output noticeably and adds richness to the wall behind the fixture. Best for rooms with warm wood, dark walls, terracotta, or any interior where warmth is the design priority.
Will the two shades on my fixture match each other? +
They will be very similar but not identical — natural alabaster carries individual veining and subtle color variation in every piece, so the two shades on a Double will have slightly different patterns. This is intrinsic to natural stone and is part of what makes each fixture one-of-a-kind. The overall tone (cream for White, amber for Brown) will be consistent across both shades; it is the specific veining that will vary.
What is the difference between this and the Single version? +
The Payson Single has one alabaster shade (H 45 cm total) and suits more compact spaces — bedrooms, hallways, and walls where a single accent is sufficient. The Double (this listing, H 50 cm total) has two shades on the same brass body, providing more light output, more visual mass, and a more architectural presence. Choose the Double for larger rooms, feature walls, and flanking a wide headboard where a single shade would feel visually thin.
Can I use it with my existing dimmer switch? +
No — the standard integrated LED is not compatible with TRIAC wall dimmer switches. Connecting to a dimmer circuit will cause flickering or LED failure. If dimming is important for your installation, contact us before ordering and we can provide a dimmable version as a custom build. Please mention your dimmer brand and model if possible so we can confirm compatibility.

Sculpted by earth,
softened by light.
Rare natural alabaster, hand-carved by master artisans and illuminated from within. Every piece is unrepeatable — a singular convergence of geology and craft.
"Alabaster does not merely hold light — it breathes with it, casting a warmth that cannot be manufactured, only discovered."
Formed through millions of years of slow crystallisation, alabaster is among the world's most ancient decorative stones. When illuminated, it yields a quiet, golden luminosity — gentle, organic, irreducibly human. Our collection exists to honour that rarity, designing forms that allow the stone to speak without interruption.
No two stones
are ever alike.
Alabaster carries within it a geological autobiography — millions of years compressed into veining, crystalline structures, and tonal shifts that no craftsman could plan or replicate. Five expressive patterns emerge most consistently in our collection.

Pure
Clear SurfaceA near-uniform honey surface with barely perceptible variation — the rarest and most meditative expression of the stone.

Ink Marbling
Flowing VeinsSoft, fluid grey veining reminiscent of East Asian ink painting — atmospheric, unhurried, deeply contemplative.

Lightning Veins
Sharp BranchingBold, branching mineral lines that fracture the surface with dramatic precision — striking from any angle and in any light.

Ice Crack
Angular FracturesGeometric fissures suspended within the stone — sculptural formations that diffuse and scatter light with quiet drama.

Snowflake
Crystalline FlecksSuspended constellations of lighter crystalline matter — a delicate drift across the surface that catches light from within.
Natural Variance Is Not a Defect
Because alabaster is a living natural stone, every piece carries its own unique veining and tonal variation — a quality we celebrate rather than suppress. We are unable to specify, select, or replicate any particular pattern. Ink marbling, lightning veins, ice-crack formations, and snowflake inclusions are inherent characteristics of the material and do not constitute a quality issue. If you prefer a perfectly uniform finish, this collection may not align with your expectations — and we kindly invite you to consider this before placing your order.
One material,
every room in the home.
From the grandeur of a double-height chandelier to the intimate glow of a bedside lamp — alabaster scales with intention, adapting to every room's rhythm without sacrificing presence.
Five stages of
quiet craftsmanship.
Every alabaster lamp begins as raw stone and arrives in your hands only after passing through a sequence of precise, unhurried steps — performed by artisans who know how to listen to the material before they shape it.

Material Selection
Rough blocks are hand-assessed at the quarry for translucence, structural integrity, and depth of colour within.

Precision Cutting
Diamond instruments slice the stone into workable panels, guided by its natural grain rather than against it.

Sculpting
Artisans turn, carve, and hollow each form by hand — responding to the stone's character as it is revealed.

Hand Polishing
Progressively finer grits refine the surface until the stone's interior luminosity is fully realised.

Final Assembly
LED modules, solid brass fittings, and hand-finished hardware are fitted and inspected — each piece individually, never in batches.
Seventeen finishes for the
metal that holds the stone.
Every alabaster fixture is completed by its metalwork — the canopy, stem, arms, and fittings that carry the stone and frame its glow. Each is available in seventeen numbered finishes from the Radilum Finishes Library: brass, bronze, iron, steel, nickel, and chrome characters, hand-applied and sealed, or a custom patina grown to match a sample you send us.

Finishes 01–17 · brass, bronze, iron, steel, nickel, chrome, black · custom patinas matched on request
Order by number, not by name. "Antique brass," "aged brass," "burnished brass" — ask five workshops what those mean and five different metals come back. Finish 04 is the same physical sample in our studio, on the atelier bench, and on your packing list.
And because no screen renders metal honestly, we ship the physical panels before anything is committed. Hold them against your alabaster's veining, your cabinetry and wall paint, at the hour you actually use the room — then send the number.
To own an alabaster lamp is to welcome a piece of natural sculpture into your home — shaped by the earth over millennia, refined by artisans over weeks, and completed only in the moment it is illuminated.
Radilum Design Studio

Treat it as the
rare object it is.
Alabaster is genuine natural stone — each fixture carries substantial weight and deserves the same careful handling you would extend to any fine sculpture. A few simple practices will preserve both piece and electrical integrity for a lifetime.
- 01Never lift by the power cord. The cord is not load-bearing. Tension applied to it can damage internal LED wiring and lead to connection failure over time.
- 02Always support the stone body.Cradle the fixture with both hands when moving or installing. For larger pieces, two people are strongly recommended.
- 03Clean gently; dust often.A dry, soft cloth is all that is needed. Avoid water, solvents, and abrasives — they will dull the polished surface irreversibly.
See it in motion.

Measuring for Pendant Lighting
When installing pendants and chandeliers, it’s important to consider how you want your fixtures to hang in relation to the other furnishings in your space. Read on for our recommendations on how to hang the perfect light.
Kitchen
Aim for 30–36″ from the bottom of your fixture’s shade to the top of your island or countertop. Space multiple pendants 26–30″ apart. For a sense of proportion and balance, allow 12″ from the outermost fixture to the edge of your counter.
Dining Room
For optimal lighting and visibility, the bottom of your pendant should sit 30″ from the surface of your dining table. To scale your fixture, take the length and width of the room in feet, then convert that to inches. For a 10′ by 14′ room, the chandelier should be about 24″ wide.
Bedroom
If you’re hanging a pendant above a nightstand, allow for at least 30″ between the bottom of the shade and your nightstand’s surface. To keep the look balanced, center your pendant over your nightstand.
